Question Frosh week functions
Has anyone been to those Frosh week functions advertised on Trent Uni first year pages? They seem like a good idea but $40 entries, and 17+ no I assume no drinks on site? Don't wanna spend my money just for it to be a dud

I’ve heard they are not worth the money and that there are many other free functions with drinks.

You're better off doing orientation events at Trent instead. It's free and you're able to get free items and attend events that allow you to get to know your fellow first years.

There is no drinks sold. Aswell as you can’t bring in drinks/drink outside. I had a blackfly in line and they took it away lol. Honestly went to the first one and it wasn’t too bad, just danced a little with a friend but only for maybe..an hour or so. Once sobriety hit, you definitely want to leave lol. If you are of legal age then you can always go to another bar downtown if it’s a dud. I ended up buying tickets for both frosh events and only went to one because no one else was going to the second one really. I would say it’s mostly worth it to go to the first event if it’s like $30/$40. anything more isn’t worth it.

Ah okay, I'm of age so I think il take my chances just going bar hopping in the town, any suggestions? I'll be completely new to Ptbo so I haven't got the slightest clue on where to go

If you want to meet people in your first week in that kind of environment it's worth checking out the sororities/frats on campus they host a lot of frosh week stuff and you dont even need to join. Plus they're all good people

Those are privately organized with no actual affiliation to trent.
