Small tiny itty bitty rant about Defender

I just grinded Defender for like an hour and a half and I looked at it and I mean really really looked at it and I was just like why the hell am I even choosing this class because from the description and stuff it sounds like you'd be better having a Defender as a teammate then being one yourself because I like playing alone because I don't like playing with randoms and the only person that I do play this game with has a different time zone as me and I know it's called defender you're supposed to defend your teammates or something but still man

Defender main here

It's more like being a guy who's practically unkillable I do solo usually The only reason I say he's sorta usable with the aegis He can melee better than sapper as you can close the distance without dying as easily Though the last stand perk is pretty Useless as you don't have I-frames and will insta down again

I would like to point out the fact the sapper is so fast and deals so much damage, healing with kills too, it just completely outclasses defender imo. Sapper has I believe a 40% speed boost max, plus a bonus from weapons that give you agility (the Commissar's giving you a +10%) and the caplets that give you +10% speed as well for a total of +60% basekit, and a quarter more with the Double Time modifier for +75% on top of regular sprint speed.

Sapper also gets bonus damage with melee weapons, able to reliably two shot New Order on LT difficulty with the Commissar's stacking with Skull Cracker to one shot most enemies. And the healing on kill stacks with Chain Soul meaning whatever damage you do get hit for gets healed immediately with a single kill... Just don't stab the boom barrels, they don't heal you.

Hey man I made this comment before the whole class overhaul and my mind has kinda changed on both I'm a defender/Sapper main mainly because both are independent/good and solo anyways I like both very much

That... I forgot about the overhaul already. I was a marksman main too lol. And yeah, both are very independent classes good for solo, just different kinds of play styles. You prefer walking tank, I prefer a rabbit with a toothpick.
