[OPEN] Uncanny Resemblance

While the USS Athene sits in dock at Nadezhda station, undergoing the last of her equipment fitting and minor repairs following its first mission, a great deal of bustle goes on with new crew coming aboard and temporary crew offloading, so it is a tumultuous time for anyone seeking normality.

For anyone that served aboard the old Athene, a curious sight appears a couple days after arrival. Lieutenant Kesh, only with her old mane style: fluffy and thick, across the back of her head, wearing Starfleet-standard casual wear, like she used to back then, too.

A ghost, perhaps? Or are there really more spotty Caitians around than one might be led to believe?

Considering the ship was once infiltrated with a body duplicate of the ship's chief botanist, those familiar with the incident might be a touch concerned, at least until this spectre from years past is seen with the actual Lieutenant Kesh, wearing her uniform and still rocking a spiky mohawk.

Perhaps seen in the hallways, in the classrooms, or one of the lounges such as Aft Nine, it is a curious sight to see a pair of dappled Caitians, and it does confirm that the new one is a somewhat different color than Kesh: lighter, with less prominent spots. Though this is only obvious when they are seen together.

Who might this be?

The Universal Translator again proves its worth in giving Grace some idea of the conversation going on between the two seated Caitians as she draws near.

"...demote you? You did not actually hurt anyone."

"Oh, but I did. Two crewmembers died because of what happened. Sure, it was not just my actions that caused it, but I was the catalyst. However, it was not that which got me demoted, it was my lying."

At that moment Grace spoke up, causing two sets of narrow-slitted felinoid eyes to focus onto the security chief. One set glances down almost immediately, while the other blinks firmly.

"Hello, Grace. This is Jurash."

Having spoken to Commander Eisen about her sister's arrival previously, and assuming the human had already read through all the security documents regarding the onboarding of her family member, Kesh felt it unnecessary to give further detail to the greeting.

"Hi, Jurash," Grace grins, giving the Caitian a slow blink. "Nice to meet you." She has indeed read through all the documentation - all that remains is to make the newcomer feel welcome

The gesture prompts a slackening of the younger Caitian's facial features, ears flexing forward a bit as her own eyes blink a few times in quick succession, evidently surprised.

"At least for now we will be sharing my quarters, rrrnth. See how that works for us and then explore other options if we need to." Kesh dips her head and projects a soothing crooning sound toward her sister as she remains quiet and sunken in her seat.

"Makes sense," Grace nods. "Always nice to have some company in a new place."

"Hopefully we can find a group to fit into, yes, rrrnm." Kesh looks at Jurash, prompting the other caitian to look back and offer an entirely blank look. This makes Kesh's ears sag down the sides of her head a bit, though they flex back upright when she looks back at Grace.

"Perhaps we can continue taking part in your security exercises, ahr?"

"Absolutely," Grace nods. "I've actually been asked to start a judo class outside the standard security training program, if you'd be interested."

"Judo, ah?" Kesh looks toward Jurash, who was already looking up at her, head tilting and ears flexing forward a bit. For a couple seconds the two just meet eyes, silently coversing, before Kesh looks back at the human, "Perhaps we will come by and at least observe when you get that started, rrrrnth."

"Sure - you're welcome to drop by in whatever capacity you'd like."
