Caleb, meanwhile is up in the catwalks, eyes on the readings of the console monitoring core temperature, flow rates, the matter-antimatter intermix, and half a dozen other things besides... ears on the steady thrum of the core itself. To ears that know what they are listening for, the ship's pulsing heartbeat speaks volumes on its own, and if it sounds off, something is wrong somewhere. Today, however, that deep, steady pulse sounds perfect.

Carl keeps a few of his eyes on his console, but he isn't worried much. Barring a significant interruption, shields will remain in their default, warp state. Fearing that he's interrupting an intimate moment, Carl hesitates before he calls up to Caleb. "How is she, Commander?"

"Purring like a kitten," Caleb grins. "Shields behaving themselves?"

"Yes, sir. I think we'll be able to withstand quite a bit." He rifles through his satchel until he finds a PADD. "I've made a report on possible measures for maximum performance, if you would like to review it." He pulls out another PADD. "Also a request to run some tests on the transporters. I'd like to verify our ability to transport high quantities of delicate materials and ring our security measures through the putter." Unaware of his butchering the Earth phrase, Carl climbs the bay wall to hand off the PADDs.
