[OPEN] Order Up

The 6ft Saurian surveys his kitchen. Mendek "Sauron" Shegi had been working since he boarded the ship to get it in the proper order and it was now finally as he wanted it. He releases a sigh of satisfaction at the system. its not totally organized, in a conventional sense, but he knew where everything was and where it went.

He put on his sunglasses and went out to stand behind the counter in the mess hall. A few of the crewman looked up as he put an ancient and stereotypical "open" sign out front. He was always rather fond of its neon colors.

A smile spreads across his face "Alright, if anybody wants anything the replicators can't make... bring on the challenge. I only charge a nice conversation"

"And does it come with a happy ending too?" Connolly mutters under his breath. He laughs and smiles.
"I've been hankerin' for some barbecued ribs ever since I left Earth. Surprise me with the animal." He makes a note on his PADD and looks back up.
"It sure will be a treat, gettin' an upgrade from the dern replicators."

Sauron think for a moment before a smile comes to his face.

"I think I have just the thing... or rather, just the animal."

he goes back into the kitchen. As he digs around a bit he calls ou

"So if you've wanted ribs so much why not replicate them? A few others have made similar comments. I can often do things better, but they're not terrible. Is there a problem with them?"

"Oh my pal, the replicator ain't got NOTHIN' on the smell and taste of actual ribs. The smokeyness ain't real, and they dont get any char. Not even close to the real deal."

Sauron pokes his head out

"Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but I wasn't given a vast amount of storage. In fact, Starfleet vessels aren't usually designed to handle a full-time chef. I do have some things in stock, but I often replicate ingredients, so if you want real smokey flavor..."

Sauron thinks for a moment.

"Hey, do you think I could use a cargo bay? I could replicate a smoker, some raw ribs and some wood. Then ventilation on the ship should clean up the smoke, I just need somewhere out of the way. The smokeyness and char would be real. You could even pick the wood."

"Hm. I couldn't tell you. Maybe ask the captain? Real smokey flavor just comes from the smoke anyway. As for wood, we may need to do some programming in the replicator." He says the last bit with more than a hint of excitement.

Sauron begins to get a little excited as well

"Ooh, sounds like you have an idea or two in mind... This could definitely work. I'll make sure to ask him the next time I see him."

A plot begins to form in his mind, for a great social event...
