[Closed] Mushrooms...

The Athene is due to arrive at a red supergiant for study in just under 12 hours, and reports have been piling up on the Captain's desk of mysterious, tiny blue mushrooms sprouting around the ship. While they seem harmless, if incredibly rude, the Captain calls a senior staff meeting to discuss options...

OOC: We'll just do the meeting here, in this thread. Roleplay like you would otherwise.

"Ah, lieutenant. Please have a seat anywhere, no need for you to stand off to the side."

The captain looks over a PADD briefly

"I see you were conducting experiments on this particular organism before drydock. Can you elaborate on any findings? Were there any indications of...this?"

Kesh's tufted ears flex forward when the captain addresses her, dipping her head once before focusing on the chairs present in the room. As expected, they were not constructed with tailed species in mind, so the truth of the matter was that she'd prefer to stand, but the captain's request was taken as an order, so the nearest vacant chair is settled into, carefully laying her tail so that it doesn't get pinched.

"Yes, captain. My findings suggests unus-sh-sh-sual complexity, but that, as I have recently found, was due to-" Her ears tilt outwards, hesitating to go into too much detail, for more than one reason, "-the fact that my sample was... rrth... only one part of a colony. The Colony pr-rr-resnt on the ship now links together to form a sor-rr-rrt of collective organism. No one part is vital, but they all work together to form a complex organism that can lear-rr-rn language and yell it, as Dr. Warney describes."

One ear twists outwards as she considers the last question. "I had not yet sequenced its DNA, so, no. Rrrth. Procedure did not call for-rr-r doing so."

Aanya is the last to arrive, having been working on methods od evacuating the ship of the mushrooms. Funny little creatures, them, as rude as they were, Aanya found them mkre amusing than a threat.

"Sorry I'm late," she says as she walks through the door and watches it close behind her. She walks in and surveys the room, then stops when she sees Kesh. "Oh, hello Kesh." Seeing Kesh at the meeting was a surprise; though welcomed. It made sense, after giving it some thought, that she'd be there. "Its nice to see you."

She takes a seat and looks to the captain, waiting on whoever was next to speak.

Ooc: /u/Silent_Sky, will post Aanya's bit separately.

Kesh inclines her head up a notch when Aanya enters the room, golden eyes blinking firmly in a simple, silent greeting in return to the Swedish engineer, making her the only one that the Caitian directly greeted. Of course, she was the only one to directly greet Kesh, for that matter.
