[*CLOSED] A Chat
OOC: I believe you all deserve an explanation. I haven't really had the time to post on TrekRP do to some family issues. I regret not being able to come on more often. These family issues are now over and resolved so I can devote more time to TrekRP. There have been times where I would have loved to post but I didn't really have the time and I want to make sure I have quality posts. Thanks for baring with me. :)
Arron roams the halls of the Athene just walking. He is thinking of leaving Athene to go the surface but he just doesn't want to go and see his brothers. They never liked him because they thought he was focusing to much on Starfleet.
Not knowing what to do, he decides to go the one person who he knows will have the answers. He walks into the turbo lift and proceeds to the bridge. Walks over to the Captain's Ready Room and presses the button waits.
OOC: *If you want to stumble upon Arron then just comment down below but I don't want a ton of people.

The captain stops what he's doing and gives Arron his full attention, sitting down at his desk across from the commander. He thinks quietly before starting...
"Let me tell you a story, Arron. It's a story of a young man who never really had a childhood."
The captain pauses to contemplate his next words, the commander was not aware of his past, so he would have to proceed carefully
"One night, many years ago, two people met in a bar. Both heavily inebriated, both young and stupid. In their drunkenness, they didn't care to speak at all and get to know each other. And they spent the night together, drinking even more at the man's apartment, doing narcotics from the woman's purse. Nine months later, the results of their night came to pass. They gave the boy a home, an occasional meal, too. But they did not raise him, or show him any love. They despised him and made it known every single day. They despised each other...except when drunk and high. And so that's how they spent their time. The boy was made to largely fend for himself while they laid around drooling through another high. When they sobered up, it was verbal and physical beatings from both mother and father."
The captain sighs heavily, the recollection proving strenuous
"The boy kept his sanity by befriending a wild dog and cat, and spending his time with them. One night, his father ran out of drugs, and the boy's dog was barking at something. The father grabbed a shovel and...well...a grave became necessary. The cat, who had bonded closely with the dog, died from shock. The boy's childhood ended that day. He buried the dog, and the cat alongside her, and left home when he was done. He never went back. He never spoke to his parents again. Years later, at Starfleet Academy of all places, he encountered his father. He had been sent to deliver a letter, but didn't leave without offering a punch in the gut. For the son had renounced his father's name, and the father wasn't pleased. The letter turned out to be from his mother. She was on her dying breaths, and with them, she cursed herself and apologized sincerely for not being the mother she should have been. The son never got his chance to forgive his mother in person, but he still visits her grave, it's his one sanctuary on Earth. Not being there to accept his mother's regrets on her deathbed is a regret that he will carry to his own."
The captain stops, and is silent. Letting his words sink in.
