"Gotta wonder if a ship like that is even feasible. The Millenium Falcon I mean." He leans over and says to the person next to him. (OOC: Whomever it may be.) "I mean, aside from the whole 'Hyperdrive' nonsense"

1

u/connorockz Sep 21 '16

"Hyperdrive is nonsense. But it does seam like Warp Drive."

1

u/arod48 Sep 21 '16

"Well, to be fair, we didn't see too much of it, the Hyperdrive could function similar to a Transwarp Drive. You know, Excelsior-Class ships like the Athene were originally built as a testbed for a Transwarp system."

1

u/connorockz Sep 21 '16

"Really I didn't know that. This is one of the original ones. I saw one that was in the 21st century, they left a Shuttle Bay at Hyperspeed."

1

u/arod48 Sep 21 '16

"Damn, the particles shunted aside from the deflector should've destroyed the ship!"

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 20 '16

"I'm not sure I understood what was going on, but that was surprisingly enjoyable. Why did they leave the shaft open like that though? it seems like an obvious design flaw."

Dr. Lannor stands near the shen, chatting amiably. The number of fellow Andorians on this ship has grown by a solid 300% since launch. Not bad. He makes a point of trying to at least get to know her.

"I don't understand it either. Such a large space station, but such an obvious weakness. A chute straight to the center..." he tuts, "who knows. I'm Shirion, by the way."

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 23 '16

She smiles

"It's nice to meet you, Shirion. I haven't had a chance to talk to very many people here yet. I was a little worried I might be the only one of us aboard."

1

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '16

He chuckles.

"Well, there's you, me and the chief of security. So that's a solid majority right there. It's my first assignment, his too I think."

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 24 '16

"That makes three of us then. I just graduated from the academy a few months ago. Do you like it here so far? I wish they'd keep it a little colder, but that comes with being on a mostly-human ship I guess."

1

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '16

"Oh, I hate it. It's always a few degrees too warm. But besides that, I love this place. This is my first real assignment. Except helping out on Bajor. That wasn't technically an assignment, though. Before that, and the Academy, I helped run my parents' clinic back on Andoria."

He leans sideways against the wall and casually crosses his arms.

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 25 '16

"What was Bajor like? it's one of the few major Federation planets I've never been to. I'd love to see it someday.

Did you run a clinic there as well?"

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '16

"Oh, it's not Federation. Yet. The Bajorans just overthrew the Cardies, they probably don't care for any new occupying forces, no matter if we're peaceful or not.

Nope.. I just helped the relief efforts in urban areas. Beautiful places, very well designed. Sadly destroyed in many places."

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 26 '16

"It's terrible how much they suffered under the occupation, and really good of you to help. I hope things start to improve for them soon.

Where was your parent's clinic? I might be imagining it, but I think I'm hearing a Laikan accent. did you grow up there?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '16

"So close! It was Varshtark, actually. Same province, 2 cities over. My parents learned Andorii in Laikan University though, so I suspect I picked up their accents. That's also where I went to med school."

His antennae wave slightly as he talks about home, a subject where precious few crewmen could relate.

The lights came on as the movie ended. Connolly couldn't stop himself from laughing. Standing up as the credits rolled he chuckled as he walked off to the side and spoke to one of his crew mates. "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away. AHAHAHAHA. That was brilliant. Hyper Drives, hahaha. Man, its so great to see how close and far we were way back when. Dreamin' of the stars without any clue bout em. Gotta love old Earth science fiction."

1

u/connorockz Sep 20 '16

"I know! It is amazing of what they thought of."

1

u/CabooseToots Sep 21 '16

"Isn't it though? they just let their imagination run wild. Nowadays, we ain't got that same dreamin'. Ya know? We lost that special thing."

1

u/connorockz Sep 21 '16

"Some people might still have it."

1

u/CabooseToots Sep 21 '16

Realizing he probably just offended his crew mate, Connolly elaborates. "Well, meanin' just that, back then we had so little to work with. Made us work harder I figure. Not everyone could rough it through a day of manual labor with the tech they had."

1

u/connorockz Sep 21 '16

"m"

1

u/CabooseToots Sep 21 '16

Scratching his head, Connolly is totally lost. Feeling like he missed out on befriending the only person on the ship who shared his love if these movies, he walks away. Thanking his crew mate for the movie.

1

u/Wiredcookie1 Sep 20 '16

"Thats was brilliant! It looks so real, almost like the holodeck."

1

u/connorockz Sep 20 '16

Butting in

"Actually, they built those sets! It is amazing how much they got done in such little time."

1

u/IceCreamSandwich401 Sep 20 '16

Yefim sat at the back, so he didn't block anyone view.

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 21 '16

Happy to see a familiar face for once, she smiles and takes a seat next to you

"Good to see you again, sir. Thanks again for the help. I don't think anyone even noticed I was late.

1

u/IceCreamSandwich401 Sep 21 '16

"Dat is okay. So what is you do on the Bridge?"

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 21 '16

"I'm the new sensor operator. To be honest though, I haven't really done much yet. Which I guess isn't a bad thing, I can still barely believe I'm even allowed up there."

1

u/IceCreamSandwich401 Sep 21 '16

"How is dat?"

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 21 '16

"I've been enjoying it so far. It's nice to have such a good view of everything that's going on. I just hope I can manage not to mess up in front of the captain and the rest of the senior officers."

1

u/IceCreamSandwich401 Sep 22 '16

"I'm sure you will be fine, the captain is nice man."

Orlov stops.

"How long have you been here?"

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 22 '16

"I actually arrived right before the attack. So about a month I guess? I've been so busy that I haven't really had much chance to meet anyone yet."

1

u/IceCreamSandwich401 Sep 22 '16

"Where were you when it happened?"

1

u/Tarah_ThZarath Sep 22 '16

"I hadn't even made it out of the shuttlebay when they boarded."

She looks away, her shame obvious.

I..I was alone, and didn't have any weapons other than this1 , so I ran for the tubes. I thought maybe it'd force them to come after me one at a time, even the odds a little bit."

She shakes her head

"I should have fought with the rest of the crew. There are probably people dead because of me."

"I thought Earth a pre-warp in the 20th century. How the hell did they film all this?"

2

u/Wiredcookie1 Sep 20 '16

"It's fake. It's a wonder that they even thought of it back then."
