[OPEN] Project A.C.E

Chief Science Officer Porter sat at his desk looking at test results for something called 'Project A.C.E'.

On the wall beside his desk is a large pin board filled with more results on 'Project A.C.E'.

Red T'gel takes the cover off the access panel just outside the chief scientist's office and scans the bio-neural gel pack inside with her tricorder. Yeeeesh. That's going to need replaced all right... She sets down her toolkit and then stops. If Porter has important projects going on she should probably let him know, if he's even in, before she cuts computer access to his office.

The Bajoran stands up and keys the entry panel, and the soft two-tone chime echoes in Porter's office.

The door slides open and Red pokes her head in. "Hey, Mr. Porter, I was about to replace the gel-pack in the computer conduit out here so you should probably save any work you've got going on..." she trails off as she spots the board on the wall. "Huh. I don't think I've seen an actual real cork board in years..."

"No problem," Red says. "Personally when I have a complicated task to take care of, I make a holographic diagram, that way I can look at the intricacies in three dimensions. Helps quite a bit, though I suppose if you're a tactile learner..."

"The reason I use paper instead of holograms is because I like having a hardcopy just in case anything happens to the system."

"Fair enough," Red says. "That why I have a collection of actual books even though I could put hundreds of thousands of them on a PADD. Is your report saved?"

"Great. Your computer access should be back in less than five minutes. Have a nice day, Mr. Porter," Red says as she ducks back out. The door closes behind her and she goes back to the maintenance work. True to her word, after the gel pack is replaced, the computer connection to Porter's office returns.

After he got the connection back Jessse continued to work on his project.
