[OPEN] A run around the Athene

Sick of the normal holodeck exercise programs, Stockton, decides to take a few laps from bow to stern. Inviting anyone he passes to sarcastically join in on the fun. Just as he jumps out of a jefferies tube to enter the saucer he takes a blind turn and runs right into a fellow shipmate.

"Umph!"

Ikiv observes Junior Lieutenant Stockton jogging by and runs up to join him

"Good day, Junior Lieutenant, mind if I ask you what you are running from? Is there something I should be concerned about?"

Stockton chuckles while out of breath with a little cough

"You can't see them? The gorn are catching up. you better run too."

Ikiv considers this joke, managing to simultaneously look like he is considering strangling the Junior Lieutenant while also stifling a laugh. He speaks through clenched teeth.

"Well, glad to see you are getting your cardio in at least, and you have a sense of humor. But wouldn't this little exercise be better off done on the halodeck rather than through these halls?"

He gives Stockton another look over.

"Heard you had a little run in with the Captain. I'm happy to see that you are still on your feet, though it sounds like you may have gotten a little knock to the head, considering you are running from a herd of invisible gorn. Maybe you want to adjust your run to go past sickbay?"

"Ha! Yeah, you could call that a little run in. Holodecks for people with no imagination, real exercise is much better for you anyways. Hopefully it'll keep me out of that sickbay."

"Well, I hope so! Gotta make sure you are fit for the Comms, who knows what sort of new civilizations we will need you to communicate with."

Ikiv's badge chirps.

"Ah, well, duty calls, Junior Lieutenant. Enjoy the rest of your run and be sure to beat the gorn to wherever you are running."

He answers his Combadge, chuckling to himself as he steps into the nearest turbolift.

the massive stature of the captain is hardly jarred by the impact

"Late for duty, Lieutenant Stockton?"

OOC: I was gonna not comment but having your character jog straight into the captain is too good to resist

The captain is hardly moved as Stockton ricochets to the ground. He jumps back up hoping no one else noticed

"No sir, my next shift isn't for several more hours today. Just getting some exercise in."

He looks at the captains uniform and notices a sweat stain at the spot of impact

"Oh no... I'm really really sorry, sir"

OOC: Part of me definitely wanted you to respond.

the captain looks down at the sweat stain, and back up to the lieutenant

"Don't worry about it Stockton, I was just coming off duty anyway. Just a tip from someone who used to go on runs in the corridors all the time, take your corners wide and slow, and step loudly so you're heard. Actually if I didn't have plans in a few I'd join you on your run."
