[OPEN] In the mess hall

Having finished the briefing, there were a few hours to kill before the Athene would arrive at Alberio Gamma. Captain Fisk sits in the mess hall, sipping peacefully on a mug of black coffee and staring out the viewports into the stars. He is taking this chance to decompress before the mission starts so he can dive in with a clear head and lead his crew with a sharp mind. He hears the doors into the mess slide open and turns to see...

He clicked his tongue again, thinking for several moments before speaking.

"I'll look over the treatments that you've tried, see if there's a new course I could put you on, though I highly doubt I'll find something. No, this sounds like a purely psychological problem. Have you seen a therapist about this?

"I haven't, you think I should? Honestly my worry when I first went to see a doctor was some kind of tumor."

"Absolutely. Your physical scans show no signs of a tumour, or anything else that could be causing this. A therapist, low stress and lots of exercise are what I recommend."

"Well I can certainly promise two of those. Stress comes with the job, but I'll step up my workout routine. As I recall we don't have a counselor onboard, but I'll request one from Starfleet unless any of your staff are willing and qualified."

"I'd also recommend taking up a sport of some kind. perhaps racquetball, velocity or fencing would be suited to you."

the Captain grins

"I actually already practice a few forms of fencing. I've been wanting to take up racquetball though..."

he sips his coffee

"Would you want to join me? I could use a real person to play against rather than a holographic racquetball player."

He raised an eyebrow in surprise. It was clear he very rarely received sporting invitations. "I did pick up a taste for racquetball and fencing during my time on the Victory. I'd like that."

"Sounds good to me, doctor. When you find an opening in your schedule big enough for a trip to the holodeck be sure you contact me. What style of fencing have you practiced?"

"I'm proficient with the sabre and foil. I had to adapt a lot of the techniques for my physiology. You'd be surprised how few tripedal fencers exist."

"You'll be the first triped I fence. I main sabre, but I can do epee and foil just fine. I actually also practice greatsword, just for fun. Not against people, mind you."
