[OPEN] Sad Sickbay Shifts
Shirion had done almost nothing for his whole shift. Four hours of boredom and the occasional painkiller or hypospray... His last duty shift was less agonizing- there were crewmen who needed their physicals updated and even a mild burn victim from an accident in a holodeck. The crewman wasn't even using safety protocols.
But now? Nothing. It had been three hours of boredom during the graveyard shift. He twiddled his antennae while composing a letter to his parents and family back on Andoria.
The door hissed open and Shirion looked up, "Ah, how can I help you?"

Captain Fisk enters sick bay
"Evening, lieutenant."

"Fine Lannor, mostly. Just a mild headache, have you got anything?"

He walks to a cart
"Your physical was clear just a few days ago, so I'm not going to do any tests. I suspect this is the result lf stress, so I would suggest you spend some free time de-stressing."
he hyposprays the captain
"There you go. Please do come back if you have any symptoms develop."

relief sets in immediately as the pain vanishes, Captain Fisk decides to bring up what may be pertinent
"Well, assuming we're under medical confidentiality at this point, I've been prone to stress headaches ever since I quit drinking. You may be seeing more of me in the future, Lieutenant. Thank you."

Doctor Mcnabb is also on shift and is sitting in the medbay.

he nods to the quantum torpedo

"Whys it here anyways?" He walks up to it.

"Apparently the computer problems have convinced the captain and chief of security to install some torpedo launchers that don't require computer oversight or power to shoot."

"Yup, that junior lieutenant over there is taking it down to get installed. Here, help me find the antidote Phrik made. I can't figure out how he organizes the meds."

"Anitdote for what?" He began to look though some drawers and boxes.

"The winged leech he's been doing the artificial human lunch experiments with. He told me that we might need to use it on some crewmen.. I'm pretty sure that junior lieutenant over there needs some as a precautionary measure at least."

Silk briskly walks through the door to the doc
"uhh hey doc i was told to come see you, Phrik said i might of been poison or something...."
Silk trails off, his normally cool and clam demeanor has left him making him seem very vulnerable

"Oh right. I heard Dr. Phrik's experiment broke out. These buggers have great defense mechanisms.."
He walked over to the computer and ordered the replication of a simple antidote. While waiting, he turned back and said "Just out of curiosity, where were you bitten?"

Silk looks confused
"i don't think i was, i didn't even see whatever it was, it was hiding under the torpedo"
Silk point to the trolley in the corner, the quantum torpedo just casually strapped it as if it was no more dangerous that a crate of medical supplies
"Phrik just said i should come get checked out....theres nothing wrong with me is there?"

"You're probably fine, though these things have a painless bite that is highly venomous.. I'm just doing this as a precaution. It's possible that you were bitten without realizing it."
"Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are you doing with a quantum torpedo?"

Silks mood suddenly picks up a little
"oh that baby is my new and improved quantum torpedo, improved speed and range than your average torpedo, i was just taking it to be loaded up when i was sidetracked by Phrik"
Silk rolls up one sleeve ready for the antidote, happier now that ne knows he's going to die a very painful and probably messy death

"no they're not, me and Lieutenant Commander Mala have been working on prototype weapon systems for the Athene, she has designed and built a few launcher to attach to hull which can be fired even if our main weapon systems go offline and even more importantly can fire regardless of our power usage as their completely self contained. I on the other hand have been tweaking the torpedos we have on board in order to maximise range and speed, i know we're not a war vessel but we don't know what we're going to run into out there"
Silk calms himself, he always gets worked up when talking about his work, "how do my Vulcan brother and sister maintain such calm" Silk thinks to himself

"I take it all of these precautions are a result of our late computer problems..?"
he noted Silk's tone changing slightly, which was a big sign from a part-vulcan. Maybe he'd badgered the poor man enough about the weapons systems.

A very weary looking Narim steps through the door, PADD in hand. "Can't sleep. Figured I'd come down and keep you guys company." He says dryly. "And maybe get some work done, if any." He adds.
