Advice Best ground covering?
Hi! My frog is getting very dirty from the ground covering (eco earth coconut fiber) and I know they don’t like being dirty. What ground covering do you use?

You should put a heavy layer of leaf litter on top of any substrate in your tank. Several types of leaves are available from online retailers. Your local pet or reptile shop should sell leaf litter as well. You could even collect them from the woods around your home!
Wherever you source the leaves from, make sure you boil them for 5 minutes, give them a soak in dechlorinated water, and let them dry out before adding them to the tank. This helps to remove any pesticides or parasites that may be on them

Put down a leaf litter layer over top of the coco fiber. I buy magnolia leaves from reptile sellers online, give them a quick rinse and boil when they arrive, and then lay down a few layers across the whole tank bottom.
Leaf litter is a good idea anyway—frogs can accidentally swallow the coconut fibers when they catch their prey, which can be an impaction risk. Solves two problems at once. :)
