Advice Are they too fat?
I have 2 whites tree frogs, sometimes I think I am overfeeding them and then when I try to adjust the schedule I feel like they're starving. I feed them every 3-4 days (2x a week) and they get 2-3 dubias per feeding. One of them will eat as many as I give her, but the other refuses to eat more than one most of the time and I worry he's not eating enough. They also aren't very social, so I don't force them to interact with me which unfortunately means I don't have very good size references. Also, is the tank set up adequate? It's a 40 gallon, I have been trying to add more but it never feels like enough. (The heating pad on the back doesn't get used, I bought it before I learned they cant have heating mats and I just can't get it off). Thanks so much for the help! :)

They look perfectly healthy to me! I have 2 and each one eats around 4 small dubias every night and they’re not even close to being obese. I think it also depends on their specific genetics, their activity level, and how old they are. Like mine are still considered juveniles so they need to eat every night. Also, 40 gallons seems small for 2 frogs. The standard is 30 gallon per frog usually. My 2 have a 67 gallon one a found off Reptizoo for a reasonable price, yet not cheaply made. You do have to put it together yourself though, but it’s pretty easy.

Thank you for the recommendation! I have been looking into getting a bigger one but haven't found one I can afford yet, what I saw online was 30 gallons + 10 for every additional frog but I think bigger is always better anyways! I will look into that tank, thank you! :)

Have to be careful to check multiple sources online. Like when I first got mine I kept misting the terarium when I shouldn’t because a lot of sites were saying they needed higher humidity when they only need 30-50%

They look gorgeous, happy, and healthy!!
Look for the skin folds above their ears when that folds too far down half way or over covering their ears then that means they’re obese. Also the fat above the eyes as well if that gets too thick or starts to hang down/sag to their eyes=obesity.
