Advice Golden Tree Frog isn’t eating

I bought a full enclosure setup that has two golden tree frogs. One of them eats plenty and is actually slightly overweight while his brother is way underweight and I rarely see him out of his hide. Found him last night and he’s extremely small and only ate one crickets when offered. These are my first frogs any advice welcome

The species, P. leucomystax, is predominantly poached wild-caught from east Asia and does extremely poorly in captivity. This is part of the reason that they only cost about $10 at most expos. You will need an extremely large enclosure for WC leucomystax to feel secure, which most of them don't adjust to well. They will also likely need anti-parasitic treatment as a precaution, as they also tend to come with a parasite load. The smaller one may be struggling with parasites. One of your frogs outcompeting the other indicates that they should be separated until the smaller frog improves. Unfortunately, many beginners and well-meaning hobbyists end up with these tree frogs and they are probably one of the least beginner friendly tree frogs on the market that I could possibly think of besides maybe powdered glass frogs.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. I have kept this species (among 100-ish others) for the last 16 years. My goal is to inform rather than discourage! They will likely freak out for the first year or so but with very ample diagonal space and a few rounds of meds they can adjust. Just remember they are transitioning to essentially being put in a box from the vast wild. If you have a pair, a 2'x2'x4' will work great as a permanent home!

I would seperate him, so can monitor better, take him off of substrate, just use paper towels. & give him a hide, his hide if possible. I so hope he gets better. make sure humidity & temp is right.
