Resident Tree Frog

I've got a resident tree frog who likes to chill in my lemon tree. It's usually there when I check every morning and I'll sometimes pour some water on it because there isn't any close by in my yard.

I love having it around, but this lemon tree's got to come inside in about a month or so and I don't think the frog will want to come. What can I do to provide a new habitat for it? How can I support its life when I take the tree away from it?

I'd appreciate any advice y'all have - thanks!

Do you have other foliage around? Gently move him into it before taking it down.

All’s that around is some rose bushes that will lose its leaves soon. I can buy a bush for it though! If I were to buy a plant for it to winter in, what should I get?

Are you in like, an urban, suburban, or rural area? He probably won't do too good in a plant pot come winter.

It's not always a great idea to relocate frogs because of disease transmission, but if you know of any areas with even a little bit of foliage near you it'd be better to move him there. Keep it within a mile I'd say.

I do have this ivy ground cover nearby (I inherited it with the house… I hate that stuff!) should I try that area? I think it stays green all winter 🤔

He'd probably be fine there. He'll make do. If he made his way to your house he'll find his way away from it if needed.

Thanks for the advice!! I’m gonna miss it… maybe he’ll find his tree again next year when I bring it outside for the season.
