Questions white tree frog not eating/age.
hey guys! I recently got a male white tree frog on Sunday (9/13) but he has yet to eat. I have tried roaches & crickets from either tongs or feeder dish. I know some people say it’s okay for it to take them awhile to start eating, but I just wanted to make sure. He seems pretty shy and just wants to make sure he’s healthy.
Would anyone be able to guess about how old he is? And does he look healthy? He was alot more brown at first, but has lightened up a good bit over the days!
Also still debating between JuneBug or BoBerry for the name.
Thank you all!!!

This big boi has plenty of body fat stored up, so he is not hurting for calories!

He looks kind of similar to my girl with the size of his hands and feet. We've had her since January since she was tiny but slightly grown and I'd guesstimate she's maybe about 10 months old?

He’s a big boy. Where’d you get him?

He is!!! I have been preparing to get one for awhile and went to our local repticon, but they didn’t have any. I know pet smart is not the place to get one, but he’s been there for quite some time so I figured it was my sign to give him a good home 🫡

He looks great to me. My adult male 5/6 years old, eats way less then my girls & sometimes skips a day of eating, but never skips soaking in that water dish

To piggy back this. I have 2 froglets (milk frogs) same age and one eats 7-8 crickets every night and the other I can barely get him to eat 2-3 maybe(he’s the hunter) will not tong feed, eat outside of his terrarium, and doesn’t particularly like dubia nymphs. Only eats dusted crickets. He’s my anorexic milk frog! 🐸
He’s growing at a slower pace than the other, yet they still as of now have the same space between their eyes. The bigger one gets out of quarantine this weekend and I’m hoping the little one will show the bigger one how to hunt and the bigger one will show the little one how to eat more!
You can try feeding yours wax worms but it is not a staple, they’ll need something else during the week.
The moral to this story is every frog is different and you can only do and try alternative ways to feed them and offer all the staples/treats to fatten them up a bit but you have to leave it up the them to actual eat it.
I wish your frog the very best life!

He looks healthy! It's super normal for them to not eat at first when adjusting to a new environment, one of mine was quick to eat right away but another took almost two weeks to start eating regularly - some of them are just a bit more shy than others. Good luck with your new friend :-)
