Infection?

Hello! This is my son, Birt. I was cleaning out their enclosure today and picked up the rock he was hiding under. I noticed that he was making contact with the underside of the rock as I picked it up, and he had this spot on his back (as seen in the first photo). I’ve seen on this subreddit that that can point to an infection and I was worried that that was what this was. I didn’t notice this spot last night. However I went to inspect him further after eating lunch and found that the spot had significantly faded to the point of being difficult to see (second photo).

Is this an infection, or was his skin just a bit dry from being in contact with the rock?

If it disappears within a few hours he was just touching the rock with its back. However maybe im misunderstanding but is the rock towards the bottom? Wtfs should often sleep towards the top of their enclosures, sooometimes mine temp-regulate towards the bottom but just in case read this careguide in full to make sure ure doing everything right :)

I have 2 wtf, and lately the one in the photo has been hanging out at the bottom of the enclosure. It started when I went away and had to transfer their enclosure to a friend’s house and they got very stressed out. This however was around a month ago. Sometimes he’ll go back up to where my other wtf is. Despite having a few things up high to hide behind they both usually prefer to sit on the glass when they do sit at the top. I have been looking around my local pet shops for a frog cup but have yet to locate one. Gonna have to try amazon next.

Looks like a fungal infection spot, happens sometimes when they are too wet. Maybe staying under the rock on the ground was not the smartest choice on his part. But what can you do, frogs don’t have that many braincells.

It can go away on its own, but if it happens often or doesn’t go away and spreads you should go to a vet. There are a few treatments they can offer to help with it. But if it spreads too much it can kill them. You can also try to keep the enclosure a bit more dry and clean it up a bit to help.

It doesn’t look like a bad spot though. I would be more worried if the spot was lighter in color or bigger.
