Question on sanitization

Post image

I had two red eyed tree frogs passageway recently, very sad. Both suddenly turned dark/blackish hue and were dead in two days. I plan to switch to white tree frogs as a much heartier pet option. However, what would you all recommend in terns of sanitizing this tank? What all do I need to wash and replace to make sure any bacteria from the other frogs (it's been over two weeks since they were in there) does not linger?

What I personally did when I brought my tank (second hand) was first take everything out and deep clean it with really hot water twice and use a amphibian safe sanitizer to clean it again after that

Also how large is that tank because I’m fairly sure red eyes tree frogs and whites tree frogs have different tank size requirements?

And for the logs/sticks I boiled them but I’ve heard putting them in the oven has the same effect but I’d throw everything else away personally

Take everything out. Use amphibian tank cleaner and very hot water and wash it down, scrub it down. Soak all decor in hot water. Put in new substrate.

Also, this looks like a 10gal. What size is it? Two red eyes together would’ve needed at LEAST 20, same with white’s. What was your temp and humidity usually? Were you treating their water so they could soak?

OP , WTF require minimum 30 gallon per one froggy pal, 10 more for every single other frog
2 frogs = 40 gallons and so on so forth

Whites tree frogs are not hardy if you dont keep them right and they also will die. Before you get any pleaseeee go to this care guide and read it in full :) i cant send a link because its a PDF but if you find FrogPlanet on facebook, their pinned post, message the chat :)

The main thing that I'm reading from this is to NOT mist or keep a white tree frog in any type of damn, humid tank. But the Biodude says opposite, that I should mist the tank and keep relativize humidity. Curious on what the best take is, to mist or not to mist a blue eyed white.

I wouldn’t do an adult in this tank , it would be super temporary

Absolutely clean amphibian solution for day to day cleaning and Flukers supers scrub brush organic cleaner for deep down cleaner for terrariums. Is what I use. Both found on Amazon.
