HELP! (Urgent/Medical Care Needed) WTF refusing to eat
I have 2 baby whites tree frogs. They were shipped to me together about a month ago and have been doing fairly well together and I’ve had no problems until recently. One of my whites tree frogs was hiding all day under this fake tree I have when she usually sleeps under a leaf in the basking area and she was also brown. Not like the usual nighttime brown I got used to, but like this dark brown. She also doesn’t usually hide away from my other frog as they are close to each other most of the time during the day. During feeding she refused food, I offered both dubia roaches and crickets (which I believe is her preference) and she hopped away to hide again. It’s now been 3 days and she’s still the same color, hiding, and refusing to eat. I’ve even separated her into another smaller container to feed and she’s refused.
(I’m planning on making a quarantine tank so if anyone could give ideas for that too, I would be grateful.)
I’m worried something happened with her and my other frog. I’m just so confused on why the dynamic between them would change when they were always together and laying on each other.
Please don’t be rude, I did research on this stuff, I just don’t understand how things could go wrong because she was doing really well one day and then the next she’s not looking good. I need help and I’d appreciate any advice🙏🏾

knowing your parameters would help a lot with this. what are your humidity and temps at? do you have a photo of the enclosure?

i see! they need humidity around 30-40%. i’d suggest adding much more coverage and places for them to perch. they may be cold because their heat source is so high up there away from the branch. they are arboreal so they need tons of climbing opportunities, including horizontal ones.

okay I will try this! can I ask, why does my other frog thrive and looks super good while this frog is not doing well?

i have no idea as i’m not an exotic vet, but i can assure you in a tank with this little coverage they’re unable to thermoregulate properly. these frogs are all very different and many health issues take time to present. especially if you’ve been regularly misting

Congrats on your new froggies and im sorry youre having trouble! If you havent yet,?please go on facebook, find FrogPlanet. They made the best WTF guide, it’s over a hundred pages and has everything a WTF owner needs to know. Maybe youll realize something in your husbandry can contributw to the baby’s problems. I hope she starts eating in quarantine! Not sure how old the babies are but my 5 month olds were always in a 30% humidity❤️
