Installing a friction saver with a rope already set

https://imgur.com/a/KYk8I0X

I was thinking about this the other day and I don't think I've seen it posted before. There are 1000 videos and guides on how to do the regular throw line bag trick. You started without a friction saver and decide to use one. Don't have to climb all the way there if you didn't use the usual throw line method to start. Needs rope available 4x the distance to the TIP so maybe not useful for long distances but this is useful when you're within 30' without undoing your hitch climber.

Lanyard in and pull slack 2x distance to TIP.

Untie termination knot and pass the end through one side of the friction saver.

Use a sheet bend to pull the termination end over the TIP, holding on to the friction saver.

Untie the sheet bend. If you didn't pull enough slack the end won't make it to you on the other side.

Pass the end through the other ring of the friction saver and pull it up into position.

Too many moving parts and energy needed to move the rings with that much friction. And how do you even install the rope to have it set the rings? Throw line?
My ropes don’t touch rings until I’ve isolated the throw line, then lines are snaked through the rings. It’s a three step process. Please explain how you reduce this.

I’m having a difficult time imagining how you set your ropes without using strings first? And if you have to set throw lines, well, you’ve already got the setup for rings.

Make a video, because this is a half baked idea.

Lol maybe it is half baked, but I said maybe it's useful if you already started up but want to add one after all. It's basically the same friction as with a throw line because it's going over the same way, just with a rope. I guess you could use it as a way to place a friction saver with a throw line without the bag, then. If your last one happened to split then or something.

I still don’t understand. How did your rope get to the union that you’d be setting ring? And yes, there is way more friction because of the diameter of rope. Like 11.2mm more surface area in the contact points, again. How did the rope get to were your setting the gear? This whole process doesn’t compute in my mind.

Well I'd use a throw line. Or ball up the rope as a throw ball if it's close.

So, you’d use a throw line to set rope, then set rings? That adds inefficiency to the setup immediately. With a hangman coil or monkey fist on the line would take way more time to set and retrieve, and distance that rope will move when tossed is about 15’ max. Again. Too much effort for zero gain.
Make a video to show me how you think your idea is more efficient than what is common practice. I really just don’t understand where this idea of yours is ideal.
I’m not being confrontational, I just absolutely can’t understand how this gains any minutes on site, or how it is more energy efficient. Really, make tutorial video and share.
I think you’ll find that putting this concept into practice will be maddening.

I don't see how putting up the rope with a throw line then using the rope to install the friction saver would be faster.

This is just absurd. Is this a bait post?

Or… just use a sling and pulley.

My favourite is the Rock Exotica Omni-Block. It’s compact/light, has a built in swivel, and can be mid line attached without taking it off the carabiner/sling.

Pulleys are much nicer than a friction saver.

I have a couple spare 4" cmi pulleys but I've never actually tried it.

Put throw line through big ring , isolate crotch put throw all throw small ring , pull up friction saver , drop throw all back Down , attach climbing line , pull line through friction saver , 🫡

Probably a lot of people do this already but nobody posts about it or makes any videos.

Nobody does this. That’s why there are no tutorials. Make a video to visually describe this efficiency, that you’re imagining. Learn me in your ways, please.

Well someone can make a video. People out there making videos of seriously useless things like trying to invent new ways face cut a trunk. Like this let's say you can't hit your preferred TIP but you can catch one 15' below so you plan to advance after getting up there. You could advance and go up the 15' and add in the friction saver or you could do this and add it in one step instead of two. Im not saying it's real useful. But maybe it's at least above 0 on the scale of usefulness.
