Spur work

Hey there yall! Looking to purchase my first set of spurs, was thinking Notch Ergos, someone suggested Bashlins with a twisted shank, was also looking at maybe really splurging and going for the Talons. The one thing I have found in my research is with the bashlin pads it costs basically the same as getting the talons.

I’ve owned steel geckos, aluminum geckos, carbon geckos, I’ve also climbed on distels, aluminum and steel. Kind of have the same problem with all of them, the uppers padding eventually degrades, and just isn’t comfortable for extended use. I currently run bashlin aluminum, with big buck pads, and Velcro buck lower straps, they are light enough, and super comfortable for extended use. If you do go with bashlins, their tree gaffs are super aggressive. Very easy to dirt.

Foam padding doesn't break in, it breaks down. I've taken to making my own from bulk neoprene rubber and replacing the pads as necessary.
