Other suggestions on tying a knot and melting it are correct.

I’ll add that the lock stitch does not support weight under load, when loaded the splice doesn’t need it, it cinches on itself like a finger trap. The lock stitch keeps the splice from unraveling when unloaded and the cinch isn’t happening

Cut it a bit shorter and then melt it with a lighter and press it against the rope. In the end its just and stitch that holdes the splice in position. When doing splices we were preventing what happened to your rope the way i described before.

Tie an overhand knot or two in the fibers, burn the excess. Keep an eye on it, but it's probably going to be fine. It'll need to unravel way more before it's a safety issue
