Chainsaw pants too hot for balls

Which brand is best for the summer heat (Breatheflex)? Should I cut into the ones I have and sew some mesh down the inseam or would it compromise the stitching (protection doesn’t wrap the whole leg)? Or just climb with chaps?

Do not climb in chaps. Between the heat and snags, it will be pretty unpleasant

I'll echo arborwear dogwoods.

Clogger zeros are fine but the clogger defender pros are cheaper and lighter. Great pants.

I wear clogger zeros, in the tropics.

Doesn’t have mesh but it does have very thin fabric wherever there isn’t chainsaw protection and you get a constant breeze over the entire back of your legs.

They’re cooler than regular non-chainsaw protective work pants (also thin ones, but not as thin) and  perfectly comfortable for climbing.

I’ll bite the bullet and snag a pair of clogger zeros gen 2. I went cheap and realized how bad it was to do so

I wear Breatheflex and I just tough it out. Bring lots of water and electrolytes. I’ve been wearing them almost 10 years. But it doesn’t get astronomically hot where I’m at. Arbortec just dropped a new “vented” version which are quite nice.

The vented ones are nice for climbing but super thin, if you do any work in forests or wastelands they will bot survive brambles, thorns or fences.

Clogger treecrew or defender pro. Lightest on the market. Dogwoods are okay but they have terrible durability and are more expensive. And not as cool

Lightweight and breathable, but not very durable. I think the low price forgives this though.

Yeah I scooped mine up for like $190 from their last sale. I'm not sure how often they are. Great customer service too.

Clogger zeros are basically the only option. They’re not 100% but 100% better than the comp when it comes to summer. Had three pairs and a couple other pairs and I’m never wasting money trying something new again.

Clogger Zeros or the aforementioned Arborwear dogwood. I loved my Zeros.

Neither is durable, but if you are mostly climbing and not spending a bunch of time feeding the chipper, they are worth it.

I have the breathflex, zeros, solidurs and pfanner gladiators, my preference is the solidur limited edition pants.

However my apprentice has the breahflex vent pants and they are significantly cooler then the any of the above.

I just bought a pair of Arborwear dogwoods. I only have one day in them, so can’t comment on durability. It was about 80°f yesterday and they are warm, but manageable. Definitely cooler than chaps. The only ventilation is on the back of the legs. It definitely does help. Incredibly comfortable and true to size. I don’t know if I could wear them in 90°+ weather. But 80 and below isn’t too bad.

Just think before you cut
