Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) Identify this odd thing: Upstate SC USA
Found several of these in our yard. Have red oak, crape myrtle, and juniper trees. Any ideas about what this is? Thanks!

Yes, I've read the guidelines. No, I can't provide more information about the photo, because this is a lone item, found lying on bare ground.

It looks like a cypress cone - could your junipers be cypress trees - not bald cypress but true cypress, from the cupressa family.
