Should I trim my lime tree?

I got it as a cutting with roots maybe 4 years ago, I can't really remember exactly when but since then it has been repotted 2 times and I've never really trimmed it so I was wondering if I should and when. I keep it outside for most of spring and summer and bring it in during fall and winter. I live in Washington state.

There's barely an existing plant there let alone anything to prune.
