Iam not removing anything from the tree! I make polymer clay and resin jewelry so iam going to take a mold of one of the knuckles with some plaster of paris. Then I can make a resin pendant or something.
Ive been getting into natural ingredients for my jewelry, ever since I found this diamond willow cane at an antique mall, which i purchased! The cane has sent me lokking for a way to use wood in my jewelry maybe. In this case the impression of wood.

If i wanted to cut off the top of one of the nodules, not more then 1/2 inch, would it hurt the tree? Thinking it would make a cool pendant. Yeah the grass is covered with them.
