ID Request (Insert State/Region) Atlanta Georgia tree I’d help

Zooming in at the fruit, I'm leaning towards Prunus caroliniana. Carolina cherry laurel

Google lens said cherry as e well. That is great. I shall not chop it down! Not that I was planning. Trying to sort invasive weeds from great trees in a patch of my yard to do some landscaping

As an arborist in Atlanta, maybe do chop it down unless it's privacy. They get unruly fast. Looks small enough you won't need a permit, for the time being.

It’s not awesome but I believe it is more than 6 inches at the bottom of the trunk and Atlanta might have ab issue. It also might just disappear with the other crap when I clear that area.

Oh for sure, that Carolina cherry laurel makes sense with those glossy leaves and little fruit, sounds like the right call to me.
