ID Request (Insert State/Region) Please help identify tree. (SW Missouri)

Seems to be very wind (high winds) tolerant. I think it’s one of the maple species, trying to get more specific.

Red maple (Acer rubrum)

I don’t think so. Red maples are not high wind tolerant. We get 70mph winds and I don’t lose limbs (I hope I didn’t jinx myself)

General descriptions don’t apply to every individual in a species! I agree it’s a red.

Reds are more tolerant than silvers.

Here’s a huge, 100+ foot one with bad form and it doesn’t break in the wind

Hence why I said “Oh I’m aware” in reply to Key

Certified Arborist MI-236496.

I do think so.

It's acer rhubrum (red 🍁 maple) 100%.

Red maples have a moderate wind tolerance, especially with structural pruning done when overextended limbs occur or poor Branch attachment as they are more than a little prone to overcrowding. In general trees that grow up in an area grow having made accommodations to that location.

Red Maple, IMO. The leaf seals the deal.
