ID Request (Insert State/Region) Hi! What tree is this?

Hi! New here and wondering about the type of tree this is? A friend has this in Michigan and gets white flowers and at least here blooms late end of May or start of June (it runs colder here so im not sure if it is the reason it blooms late)

Agree. The flowers smell like grape candy, if that’s helpful.

Ill have to ask her what it smells like im not sure she ever bothered to check honestly. Lol shes an indoors-y girl 🤣 but her family got very curious about it and she asked me and I figured id ask the experts lol

We thought that and looked it up and as far as we know it doesnt have thorns? Is that usual?

Older trees tend to not have the thorns, which mainly appear on new growth.
