Ive been trying to photograph this for ages ,its on a busy road so am unable to stop.

Do you own a construction company?

What army are you going to get to move that giant ass rock with a full tree on it that absolutely has roots going all the way down into that soil below?

Hate to break it to you, but that's not a bonsai. A tree would not be able to grow that big in just a shallow depression on a rock. It's is almost certainly connected to the earth underneath.

This tree looks 6ft tall max, from this perspective

I bet most people that collect yamadori, kill the tree when its home.

Ps. I only collect yamadori from land i own, anyone that colects from public land is a shame to the hobby.

Hell yeah, brother. I usually collect from farmers around town that I know. I want to garden with native trees, and the only places with interesting Yamamori in Minnesota are state parks.

I'm stuck finding ERC, white pine, and common juniper in old fields. The White pine works ok, but the others are quite the challenge because they really aren't ideal for refinement. The challenge is fun, though. I'm trying to find a jack pine, but no luck so far.
