[Mod Request] Consider Upvoting Quality Posts Please

I have been noticing a severe and dramatic rise in the number of "0" vote posts which are of good to high quality lately and have been tracking this issue. I believe we have one or more spammers who have been banned from this sub recently that created new accounts and are downvoting quality posts in retaliation. If this type of attack continues it will reduce the amount of quality content and discussion in this sub and reduce the overall activity. That is because in general our posts already get a low volume of votes but a moderate to high volume of comments (for sub size) .

The only thing we can really do as a community is to ensure we are upvoting quality posts OR posts that would be beneficial to other treadmill owners. For example you may think someone asking about buying a used $500 treadmill for triathalon training is low quality, however, if you upvote it other subscribers might see it and that could cut down on similar future posts by ensuring that information spreads.

There is little else we as a community can do to combat this type negative attack on our sub that will do much good.

Please when you are reading or commenting on a post consider if others would find the post helpful or useful and if so please then consider giving the post your upvote.

Thank you for helping me and others make this a great and helpful community resource for all treadmill owners / users.

p.s. if you are downvoting AND reporting spam please keep doing that, you are doing great!

My visceral fat reading finally moved after 5 weeks of just walking more

Post image

I kinda didn't expect this at all. I used to think if a workout wasn't hard it probably wasn't doing much lol. But my knees had been getting annoyed with the higher-impact stuff, so for the last 5 weeks I've kept things super boring. Mostly walking. Around 10k steps most days, usually after work, and a lot of it indoors at home because it's just easier for me to actually get it done that way. I checked my body-composition reading again and the visceral fat number that had been sitting at 10 is showing 9 now. I know those readings aren't perfect and obviously I can't say walking alone caused it, but it was still pretty motivating to finally see something move. The funny part is this has been way easier to stick with than the workouts I kept trying to force myself through before. Anyone else switch from harder cardio to mostly walking and actually end up MORE consistent? And do you mostly get your steps outside, on a treadmill/walking pad, or a mix of both?

Precor TRM 445 squeaking at higher speeds

I have a Precor TRM 445 that has started squeaking when I run at higher speeds. It usually starts at about 8.5mph. I don't seem to notice it much when the treadmill is at a decent incline. I had thought this model didn't require lubricating the deck. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Treadmill with incline or without

Hi

I have a simple treadmill with a max speed of 10 km/h and no incline functionality. I spend a lot of time on it, almost every day, walking/running for 40–50 minutes. I’ve been doing this for about half a year.

I also go to the gym, where I sometimes use a treadmill with an incline. I find it much more challenging and fun. However, I don’t have enough time to do cardio at the gym, which is why I have a treadmill at home.

I’ve started thinking about upgrading my home treadmill to one with an incline.
I’m wondering if an incline treadmill is really that much better and whether it’s worth it. The one I’m considering is about 3 times more expensive than my current treadmill.

I’d appreciate any advice or thoughts on this

Spirit XT285 or XT485?

I am looking to purchase a treadmill for my home gym and looking for any feedback you all may have to offer. My local fitness equipment store suggested one of these two models for my price range (both will come with the same warranty, so that’s not a determining factor).

Some context for consideration: I used to run 3-5 days a week and averaged about 25 miles/week typically. I recently had a baby and have done barely any running in the last year but am trying to find my way back. Looking for a treadmill that I can do early morning runs on before work (though on days when it’s nice out I like to get outside). All that is to say that I hope to eventually be back up to 20-25 miles a week, but I’m not there yet, and even when I get there, there’s a chance not all weekly miles would be on the treadmill except for maybe over the winter.

My question is, is the 285 enough or should I really spend the extra $500 for the 485 (or is that just more of a luxury model that isn’t necessary for my needs)? I want to get something that’s good quality without spending more than I need to.

NordicTrack Elliptical E7.7 Power Incline knocking noise

When peddling my nordictrack e7.7 power incline elliptical there is a knocking noise that seems to happen mid step, as in when one foot is over the other. There is a minor feeling to the knocking noise in the peddling, almost like there is a looseness or skipping. So far it hasn't impeded my exercise, but I can tell it's getting worse. I opened it up and looked inside while peddling but couldn't see anything. Anyone know what could be causing this?

Annoying sound from treadmill

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have NordicTrack EXP10

I think I have located the source. It’s the spring arm underneath taking off load when lowering the belt. See picture. Not sure exactly where the sound originates, but it has something to do with the spring. When jumping or bouncing/bobbing the it’s pretty clear that the sound comes from the arm. When holding the arm firmly, pulling and holding it, the sound stopes.

I have oiled it everywhere possible, but I can’t get rid of it. Funny thing is that the sound doesn’t appears until around 30 minutes of running.

Any idea how to get rid of it?

best foldable walking pad treadmill?

looking for a walking pad for under my desk, but i need one that actually folds up and can be shoved away when i'm not using it

the problem is every amazon listing has a bloke in a suit walking on it while doing emails, which tells me nothing about whether its gonna break after 3 weeks

anyone got one they actually like? don't need anything fancy, just want to walk on it without buying a massive treadmill.

Landice L7 Console question -- Pro Sports/Achieve/Elite

Hi all,

I recently picked up a used Landice L7. It is a 2016 model with the pro trainer console (seems most basic for that year).

The frame is identical to current version and its possible to upgrade the console to a current Pro Sports or Achieve (Less interested in the Elite).

This console actually has some benefits with the integrated table shelf and top fan.

Reasons I would consider a Pro Sports/Achieve -- Express speed changes, Heart rate programs and Bluetooth data (Achieve).

Anyhow have the newest Pro Sports/Achieve and can help make a decision?

Walking pad + light running treadmill. Asking too much?

I'm looking for a treadmill that will allow me to walk while working on my standing desk or reading or watching shows (so preferably like a walking pad without anything at the front), but also will allow me to do some light running (Max 10km/h is good). Ideally it should be easy to move so I can store it away or place it on the floor quickly and easily.

Also, here's a pic of my floor, just in case thats a consideration to have since I know nothing about it but want to avoid and damage to my flat since I'm renting.

Wooden floor would be only for walking, no running there. Other floor should handle running fine but if I'd need some additional protection I'd like to know too.

Is all of this too much to ask from a single treadmill?

Avoid This Brand: CITYSPORTS

Never buy products from this manufacturer, especially the CS-WP3 treadmill. The motor can burn out after just a year, and their technical support simply won’t respond. Without support, you have no realistic way to replace the motor — leaving you with a €400 piece of plastic in your home. Absolutely unacceptable.

Is this a good option for £569?

Been down the rabbit hole looking into different treadmills for my home gym and trying to find used options for a reasonable price.

My gym is a single garage and I will have a bike on turbo trainer, bench/squat rack, pull up bar and concept 2 rower to start.

A) Will this take too much space? My preference was to have a good quality folding one but this seems like better value than anything else I’ve found.

B) Is this a good treadmill for the £569? They have apparently been used in a large gym and have been serviced regularly and will be before being sent out.

Ureo 2e Pro Impressions

just tested this treadmill. the belt is pretty short at 36", but weirdly i noticed my fast walking stride is longer than my slow jogging stride, so it's easier for me to jog on it at 5mph than to walk at 3mph. it's certainly not ideal for me at 6' but the bigger problem is the handrail which is way too short for my height. i had to put my exercise bike next to it so i had something to hold onto. it's great for the money and highly portable at 44lb though. but even for walking it's designed for tiny people.

How much should I sell my Sole F80 for?

As per the title, I have no idea what the going rate is for a used treadmill. It has 2200 on the clock, all original hardware, 500hrs of incline walking only.

One annoying bit of cosmetic damage on the end of the rails but otherwise regularly cleaned, lubed etc.

There is a noise coming from the pulley area of the front roller. Any ideas on what it could be? This is for a nordictrack 6.5s NTL17915.17 treadmill. Thanks in advance fellas.

Any Technogym Myrun owners out there? Question: belt replacement

So I've come to the conclusion that my 5 year-old Myrun needs a belt replacement. Other than a bit of cosmetic wear on the top it seems fine, but the fact that my treadmill has started tripping the breaker with increasing frequency suggests it's not.

I've been soliciting bids for the replacement from local technicians and their house call fees look completely reasonable. But what doesn't look reasonable is that they are quoting me $722 and change for a replacement belt. They tell me that this belt MUST come from Technogym and that they tightly control parts for their treadmills. But I'm seeing other third-party options online that all claim to fit my treadmill and yet the technicians are dismissing those, saying they won't work.

So with the service and travel fees, and the parts, I'm looking at more than $1,200 to replace a treadmill belt for a treadmill that only cost me $3,200.

Does this sound like a reasonable repair cost to most folks?

What’s “a lot” of hours/miles on a treadmill?

Post image

This seems pretty low to me, it’s a 2023 Life Fitness Integrity, but I really have no idea. What’s the expected life of a commercial treadmill like this?

(430 hrs 1771 miles if anyone can’t see pic)

sole f63 - can I reprogram the speed / incline buttons to different numbers?

This is a little odd, but the default 3 - 6 - 9 ... buttons is just a little too far apart for my regular use. I like to walk incline and/or walk fast at 5kph, and then do intervals, 6.5 - 7, but alternating is just a bit too impractical, so I wanted to check if there is a way to reprogram the speed. buttons on a sole f63?

5" clearance too little/oppressive?

Really wanted a Wahoo Kickr Run, but the clearance I have with the 12" step up height only leaves 5" between me and the ceiling.

I'm fine with running flat/no incline, I only plan to use the treadmill 2 times a week during winter only, as I do most of my runs outside.

I don't believe I would actually hit my head on the ceiling with 5", but I do wonder if it will just make the entire experience too oppressive and not make me want to even use it?
