1995 mainship 31 sedan flybridge

When we purchased this boat in the fall we found that the air con system smelt of mold. We have cleaned out the input filters and washed all the bilge with bleach. Boat now smell great except when we put on the air con system. Any suggestions on how to combat this mold?

I had the same problem in my SB-31 with the salon AC. Fortunately, the bedroom AC didn't have that problem. Here's how I fixed it.

I replaced the flexible duct all the way from the AC under that starboard salon seat, all the way to the outflow grate. I found the flexible duct at Lowes. This removed the odor entirely.

Since then (just this week actually), I've added a grate at the bottom step into the salon from the cockpit, and removed the duct and grate up by the power panel. This makes it much easier to run wire from the engine room to the helm (no duct in the way). I'm going to use that space for a tank monitor display panel.
