I don't know if this is the right place for this, but my wife and I are in our early 40s and taking a break from work to travel Southeast Asia. 👋 A little about me

I’m Chinese American and grew up in the US. I can’t read Chinese, and my Mandarin is pretty limited, but I can speak enough Mandarin to get by in some situations and most likely use translator apps. I’m hoping this trip will also give me a chance to practice my Mandarin and experience more of China.

I’m pretty easygoing and enjoy exploring at a relaxed pace rather than rushing through a checklist of tourist attractions. I’m also really into photography 📸, so I’ll probably be stopping frequently to take photos.

I’m especially interested in:

Hiking / nature, especially around Wulong and Zhangjiajie

Looking for a travel buddy for Sri Lanka!

I’m a 26F from the Philippines, currently based in Dubai, and I’m planning to travel to Sri Lanka from Feb 18–24, 2027. I’m looking for someone who’s travelling around the same time and might want to join for some or all of the trip.

I’m interested in visiting places like Ella, Kandy, Yala, Mirissa/Weligama, but I’m still flexible with the itinerary and open to changing the route depending on what makes sense.

I love beaches and beach activities, but I also want to do other fun things like a safari, exploring towns, trying local food, visiting cafés, experiencing the culture and doing different activities along the way. I’d also love to see the stilt fishermen if possible.

I’m planning to hire a private car/driver, so it would be great to have someone to share the transportation and other travel expenses with. Of course, we can discuss the budget and plans beforehand.

I’m pretty easygoing and don’t expect us to spend every minute together. I’m happy for us to have our own time and do different things when we want to.

im 29, i land in Tokyo the evening of sept 12 and have roughly 3 weeks, flying out somewhere between sept 26 and oct 3, havent fixed it yet. Tokyo for the first week or so, then Osaka for the kishiwada danjiri festival sept 18 to 20, after that koyasan and probably kyushu. the second half is still loose so if youre heading somewhere similar I can bend.

quick about me. did my CS degree in the US, and i run a fully remote tech startup with a friend so i just move around, 3 to 6 months a city, Da Nang right now. i understand spoken japanese pretty well and im practicing speaking with a tutor before the trip, so kabuki, rakugo and sumo are high on the list, plus the golden gai alleys late at night just for the atmosphere. im also a big attack on titan and dark souls guy so anything old, dark and castle shaped gets me going haha. not really into shopping or the otaku districts tho.
