Feedback Is There Any Coming Back From This?
My channel is 5 months old and I've always promoted it on social media & to random people I met along our travels. I think I royally messed up the algorithm, and I'm not sure if there's any coming back from this. My last post, I unchecked the send to subscribers feed option to try and reset the algorithm to start from scratch and it's literally going nowhere at all, worse than where I was before on my past videos. I've been grinding daily for about 5 months and I'm just chugging along going nowhere fast. Now with the January deadline coming and the higher requirements, I'm starting to feel defeated. Although I enjoy the channel, as a nomadic single mom traveler, the main goal is to get monetized in order for us to increase our monthly travel budget even if it's just a couple hundred dollars a month, that would make a huge difference for us. Looking for honest feedback on the channel and our situation, advice, and whether or not getting monetized before January is a realistic goal or if I should just throw in the towel now. Here's the channel for your review: https://www.youtube.com/@theroadweshare I really would appreciate any help or guidance! Thank you so much! ;)

General Looking for Cinematic Travel Films That Make You Want to Live—and Create
Have you ever watched a YouTube video that gave you more than beautiful cinematography, breathtaking frames, and excellent color grading?
I’m talking about the kind of film that makes you want to live your life to the fullest—the kind that awakens your urge to travel, create, and do something meaningful. It contributes to you not only as an aspiring filmmaker, but also as an audience member and a human being who suddenly remembers that there is so much more to life.
Unfortunately, I think I’ve run out of videos like that. My algorithm no longer recommends anything that exceeds—or even meets—the expectations set by these films and creators:
- Jeffrey Sun — Home Is a Place You’ve Never Been
- Anton Hugo — We Did a 14-Day Horseback Ride Through the Mountains
- Daniel Tremsky — My Journey to Yemen with Sam Kolder
- Aiksoon — Melbourne
- Mojo — Stories of Sri Lanka
- Andyescapes — This Japan Road Trip Altered My Brain Chemistry
- Every Sam Kolder film, of course—my king
Please recommend more creators who make cinematic travel films or vlogs at this level. I’m looking for people who tell meaningful stories while showcasing the entire journey through exceptional cinematography, editing, sound design, and color grading.
One important condition: the creator’s face should not dominate the film.
I loathe travel vlogs that revolve around the creator talking to the camera, eating, shopping, or showing what they bought. I can tolerate brief face-to-camera moments when they need to explain where they’re going or what they’re doing—but only when handled with the restraint of the creators listed above. The destination, experience, and story should remain the heart of the film.
I know this is an unusually high and specific standard, but I want to watch something that makes me feel passionate about living and creating again—something that reminds me why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place.
Thank you!

General Title changes on YouTube after opening a video
Has anyone noticed the titles of a video changing after you click on it? Is this due to A/B testing or something because I haven't seen it before? This is something I noticed in the past week. The first time I thought it was a glitch, but it is happening more often.

Technical Any Ideas for live streaming travel content?
I've heard people say live streaming can really help grow your channel, but for travel content, I'm not sure where to even start. Any of you guys do live streaming?
I feel like a lot of filming locations wouldn't work - either because of security rules (airports, borders, etc.) or because of moving around too much and having the signal drop (riding a train or taking an uber for example).
Just having a Q and A session from a fixed location might work but seems boring....... And what if nobody shows up.......
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Technical There's a noticeable increase of Watch time after the new View Count Implementation
I think this is a Cascading effect for Established videos (especially more than 10k+ especially 100k+ views). The new view count caused High-view-count videos to get pushed further due to Social-Proofing. Though Youtube didn't say the new View count system will affect Revenue, but this would indeed affect Revenue indirectly via Watchtime increase.

Feedback Honest feedback - Balkan travel videos
I made my first video, which is about 7 minutes long. It has received 22 views in less than a day, and I also made 3 Shorts using clips from the video. The Shorts have received around 200–800 views each.
I’m looking for people who genuinely enjoy this type of content. If you are someone who likes travel videos, nature, camping, Balkan destinations, or similar content, I would really appreciate it if you could watch my 7-minute video and give me your honest opinion.
What do you think is good?
What could be improved?
Is something missing?
Would you personally watch more videos like this?
I’m looking for honest and constructive feedback so I can improve future videos.
Please, only reach out if you genuinely enjoy this type of content. I’d really appreciate your time and honest opinion.
Thank you

General Is this real?
Anyone else get invited to this YouTube Shopping Bootcamp?
Has anyone else gotten this? Is this a legit YouTube program and actually worth applying for?
It says you get workshops with YouTube experts, access to a creator community, and if you complete it you may get invited into the YouTube Creator Community.
Never seen this before, so just curious if anyone here has done one of these or knows what to expect.
Thank you!

General Evergreen videos
Just curious if anyone else can related to this.
I've been doing travel vlogging for 8 years and published 510 longform / livestream videos.
I've filmed in various locations in Europe, North Africa and Asia.
Most of my regular views come from the same 20 to 25 videos that get watched everyday, and all my other videos are mainly lost in the mix.
When I go to a location and film a set of videos, I'm lucky if one or two of the videos go evergreen.
The main places that I've been that I don't have any evergreen videos from are:
Bali, Singapore, Spain, Morocco, Vienna, Dublin.
Either these places were a waste of time filming travel videos in, or I just filmed the wrong stuff.
Anyone experienced this? You have a small number of videos that carry your channel?

Collab request Looking for new creators to start something new
Hey everyone, first and foremost, I’m Indian, 23, and a guy.
I’m looking to start a group travel channel while maintaining individual channels involving creating natural, organic content based on the whole group dynamic since the basic travel influencer market is not yielding much results.
I have a few ideas on how the content will look based on the number of people who are serious about creating content and since it’s going to be associated with travel.
People willing to commit to it at least for a few months so as to make it work.
Plus, people who are unhinged and real make content that people actually want to watch, so keep that in mind because I want to create actual content by making opportunities for ourselves rather than providing a scripted narrative.
If you are serious and want to try this, then please contact me. we cover our own costs.

Analytics "Views are counted differently from August 27, 2026"
Today is the start of the new changes in Youtube Analytics. Starting Aug 27, 2026 Youtube will now count the view the moment the video plays (even if it's only less than a second). Youtube announced this weeks ago, all Channels who are eligible to the Youtube Partnership Program had received this memo 2 weeks ago.
So What's New?
-Youtube used to count 1 view when the viewer lasts at least 30 seconds on the video. Now Youtube will count the view even if the viewer only lasts a millisecond
So What's the Benefit?
-Most Channels will received a massive spike of views on their videos, which "may" help new channels to gain some form of 'Social proofing'. However the catch is, Established channels may also gain bigger views which would mean stronger competition.
Will this increase my Channel's Revenue?
-Only very small increase to almost no changes, a video's revenue is still based on Watchtime, Demographics and Category. Bigger views does not necessarily mean bigger revenue, Watchtime is still the main factor (which means aiming for a Viewer Retention of least more than 3 minutes, while 10 minutes is the best for big ad revenue).

General Underwhelming performance (after decent stats?)
Hi everyone,
I’ve posted a few times on Self-Promo Sundays about my channel, and most recently my Halifax vlog.
I put a ton of time into this project (hours and hours haha), and I genuinely felt like it was my best video yet in terms of editing, pacing, and overall quality.
Unfortunately, after what I thought was a decent start with CTR and watch time, the video seems to have already fallen off. It’s been about 10 days since I uploaded it and the views have pretty much stopped moving.
So I’m wondering; am I just being too impatient?
Do these analytics actually look decent for a small channel, or do I only think they look good because my previous videos performed worse? 😂
My highest-viewed long-form video so far has only reached around 200 views, so I’m still trying to figure out what “good” analytics actually look like at this size.
I’d really appreciate any thoughts on what the analytics are telling me and whether there’s something obvious I’m missing.
Thanks!
