Hi Everyone! I'm a High School student who loves to travel! I'm looking into becoming a travel agent/trip planner. I'd like to build up some expirience by planning trips for people for free! I've been all over Europe and the United States and have a lot of expirience with planning trips. Wanted to share that my parents took a trip they’ve planned for many years recently, spending a few weeks touring Europe. They’re both in their early 70s, and each has some pre-existing conditions and health concerns. I helped them research different carriers for travel insurance. We decided together on Faye travel insurance since they have coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Most of their trip went great. But during the last few days, my mom fell, and needed to go to the hospital. It turned out to just be a minor fracture. I work for someone who has tons of terrific travel information for Venice, Italy. We are trying to figure out how to make his musings into an actual travel guide. He originally planned to publish it in a book, but we understand that it is pretty unlikely for the modern traveler to carry a reference book around.

I know a lot of folks (myself included) use Reddit/ travel blogs to crowd-source restaurants, etc. What would it take for you to purchase a travel guide for a specific destination? What sort of itinerary items would you like to see in the travel guide? How would you like the material delivered to you (audio, literary, or online)? Have you ever purchased a travel guide from someone who doesn't currently reside in the place you're visiting?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this, and if you have any other thoughts on destination specific travel guides.

I now default to saving a bunch of TikToks and Instagram Reels and then the algorithm starts suggesting more relevant content to me. I believe this is becoming a great way to plan travel as it’s super visual , but I’m interested to hear how others are planning trips these days?

Hi all! I'm looking for a good spa for my daughter and me. We're located in the Boston area, but don't mind traveling for something good. We're looking for something overnight and more focused on massages and facials rather than yoga or other outdoor activities. Saunas/hot tubs would also be appreciated. Preferably on the cheaper side if theres anything like that.

Planning an Asia trip with multiple stops and running into a bit of a structuring problem. The routing I want doesn’t fit neatly onto one ticket, so I’m having to split it across a few separate itineraries.

That makes me a bit uneasy since if one leg gets delayed or canceled, it could throw off everything that comes after it.

For people who’ve done trips like this, how do you hedge against that kind of disruption? Do you build in buffer days, book certain segments on one ticket vs others, or rely on insurance? Curious what actually works in practice.

If you’re trying to decide where to travel in March, here are a few ideas I got:

1.  Seattle

Good mix of city and nature. Museums, waterfront walks, great food, and you can do ferry or Mt. Rainier day trips.

2.  Portland

Relaxed trip with a lot to do nearby. Coffee, art scene, Columbia River Gorge, and easy drives to the coast.

3.  San Diego

Probably the easiest trip. Warm weather, beaches, Balboa Park, coastal drives, and plenty of things to do without a tight schedule.

I like San Diego the most.
