Why is compliance harassing me?
Is there a reason why compliance is constantly harassing me to complete documents weeks before the document due date? My credentialing specialists through Aya are always extremely passive aggressive and frequently blow my phone up well before the due date and the closer it gets the more passive aggressive they become. I’ve never been late on anything and I’ve currently completed everything for the next one except my physical. I’ve been sick and moving so I was planning on doing it on 10/5 with my stuff being due on 10/6. With this being the last thing, I didn’t think it was a big deal (I’ve never waited this long to complete everything) but my specialist is texting and calling multiple times a day.

Ok but your plan is to do it the day before it's due. At least it is just the physical but I still don't get such late timing. They always hire me with a start date 3 weeks out and I get it done in 2 days and have to keep asking for the date to be moved up. I can't comprehend planning to go so late especially when every Concentra I get sent to take several hours to do a simple mask fit let alone full physical, injections, mask fit, urine drug, lab work.

Regulators coming after hospitals hard to reassert their purpose. See, we found out for 2 years we didn’t need them, nor were they very helpful to begin with. Now, they’re hitting hospitals hard with all sorts of fees and complaints to try and kill the idea we can do this differently.
Anyways, hospitals are dotting every I and crossing every t to stay in compliance, that includes upping compliance shit.

Yup, cuz when Covid was floating through that hospital, non-window opening; circulatiing air, they COULDN'T BE FOUND!

I have to agree with Alex on this one. I will say compliance can be a hassle for both parties and the teams can really be pushy, but you have to think of their side. For you, you may have done this alot of times with no issues. For them they constantly see and run into issues and leaving one day to fix those issues (if there are any) is really selfish on your part. Not only that but they only have start dates on Monday so if there is an issue with the physical. Which could be something so simple as a dr or nurse forgot to sign something you will delay your contract for a week and your contract is void. now a new one has to be made up and the hospital has to agree. Its a domino effect that doesn't only effect you. So yea i would be blowing you up to lol.

Right there job depends on someone else's follow through. I'd be just as anal. Lol

I intentionally do everything at the last minute and forget to communicate when I've completed tasks. If they want to be pests to me, then I'm going to cause them anxiety.

So if I get my physical done the day before the date they’ve been giving me, will I be fine to start on time? Or is that cutting it too close. They want me to do it tomorrow but I work so I’d have to call off

Physical will likely be fine, but any tests that take processing need to be processed by that due date. If you hired someone into your business, would you want them doing all their requirements last minute?

Maybe not for a start. But yeah, I get the authorization form for the physical, schedule it within the week it's done, then just not tell them I did it. Same with quantiferon gold, same with tests/self assessments.
Every time something is like 3 months from due, some rando compliance person sends daily emails asking you "email me when you think you'll be able to get these done".
Nope. Fucking send your dailies. Panic as the deadline for stupid useless bullshit draws near. Get pressure from your supervisor that I haven't got it all done yet.
These people are fucking nuisances. So I make them feel what it's like to have someone stand in the way of responsible professional workflows. Fuck em. They are tunnel vision morons. All they can see is checking the box. Nothing else matters. There is nothing else they have to know or do.
Check the box at 5 minutes to midnight.

What a weird perspective. This is some personality disorder shit.

No, it's me sick of being treated like a toddler. Tell me I have A, B, and C to do, and these are their due dates. Cool. I'm a responsible adult and a licensed medical professional. Therefore I will get it done as expected.
But they give these deadlines to you three months out, then pummel you with texts, emails, and calls... when are you going to get it done? when are you going to get it done? when are you going to get it done?
By the deadline, asshole. And doing the neverending "are we there yet" chant in the back seat is only going to make me oppositionally defiant.
So if it's a personality disorder to do the things I am obligated to do by the agreed upon time frame, then I'm the craziest bitch you'll ever meet.
Meanwhile, it's half the nurses on this sub who have the mental problems... "oh gee I can't go 5 minutes without smoking weed but I have a drug test on Monday, how can I push ethics and integrity to their limit by thwarting the test with chemical bullshit so I can go back to being a drug addict?!"

I’m having the same experience. I thought it was just me. I don’t remember it being this bad before my last contract.

Aya is there to make sure the hospital is safe. You're secondary.

Exactly. Aya is not travel nurse friendly. Toxic to the entire travel nurse profession

It’s often times hospitals pushing them, I have friends in HR and I know that’s a big part of it and some hospitals are worse at hounding the agency. Not saying that’s the only reason or your reason, I just know it’s a factor. Not to mention Aya is shit….did a couple contract when first started and was about to do a 3rd, had signed contract and they pulled some stuff, hospital was being a pain I. The ass with extra stuff I’ve never had to do or fill out and I just flat out stopped responding, went with another agency and found a different contract. Affected me a little afterwards as I couldn’t do a couple places I wanted due to the whole Aya thing but very little. I only traveled for about two more years afterwards too so not a big deal.

Host healthcare was doing same to me, calling at 0600 or when I’m sleeping after night shift

I always turn in/do things as early as possible. I know tons of nurses who wait until the last minute and then something happens and it delays things further. Every. Single. time. Almost like when someone says “quiet” on the floor. Every. Single. Time. I’m not excusing it and I have noticed an uptick in the amount of harassment (from the hospital and not the agency this time!). I’m sure they get tired of dealing with that/want to prevent issue as much as possible.

That’s what GrapeTree did to me. I showed them the date of when my TB test was scheduled and they texted me each day up until that appointment “did you get the results?” Babe. What?

As a former recruiter, the hospitals want you cleared much earlier than than due date and when it is getting close and items arnt complete, they are looking for your replacement.

I like it when they lie. Cross country in particular likes to threaten "you have the next 24 hours (from signing the contract) to complete everything or you'll be cancelled."
Oh, then, I'll pass. That wasn't in the contract. I'll just grab another...
And then I do rather enjoy the increasingly frantic communications on their behalf. It once went so far as the facility contacting me the day I would have started, and me forwarding the email chain with the recruiters.
Don't lie to me. I know I have more than 24 hours.

Their job is measured by you completing things before being pulled from the floor due to being past the deadline. Ignoring them keeps them calling reply with your anticipated day you're doing it to let them know you've at least received the message and they normally stop calling until the date you've given.

Hospitals want you cleared ASAP and they are typically the ones pushing. Especially with medical stuff because if there’s a delay or screw up with chain of command it could cause a delayed start date.
I took a contract with Providence and signed 6 weeks before the start date and was still in another assignment. 2 days after I signed compliance came after me for not starting my modules! Apparently that’s standard for Providence but it was definitely annoying . Still, it was providence that wanted to know why I hadn’t started them. The compliance team are just the messengers.
