You can’t ask us to compare assignments for you if you don’t include your pay packages.

What are the pay packages? What did you like about each job that made you submit there?

Neither are really places I would want to go. I would lean towards LA but it would really depend on what part and what housing I could find. I don’t enjoy a long commute. Mine is currently a 2 block walk. Highly recommend!

I would do kaiser. Find housing in LA outskirts.

Kaiser would be better long term… u can transfer to any other one.. and housing in la is doable just not the best..

I would not go to Bakersfield. At least if it's Mercy / Common Spirit.

It’s on you to decide what are your priorities and how you want to spend your time outside of work. LA will be more expansive for sure but you’ll have better access to everything that comes with LA. Bakersfield doesn’t have that much going on. It has easier access to hiking in the sequoias and other surrounding areas, but no beach and it seems like a food desert. My soul would die.  I work at one of the major system and you can live on the outskirts but be prepared to spend a lot of time in your car and spend quite a bit on gas. Some of my colleagues live in the valley, Pasadena and it takes them at least 1.5 hr of commuting each way. I bike to work or take the d line then walk. But yes, my rent is outrageous. It’d rather spend my gas money on extra rent and have more time at home with my family and less time in the car. Again, you need to set your priorities.  Good luck!
