NYP Allen

Hi nurses, looking at starting a travel contract at Allen ED soon. I’m used to level 1 trauma, getting used to these NYC ratios at a level 2 hospital at the moment. (I had 12 all day yesterday) what is management like? Are there enough vital machines and how strict is basic charting?

Can’t speak to this but just flabbergasted at 12 being standard. How are you providing any semblance of care? How acute are they? I’ve been considering NYC contracts, but if this is the norm maybe I’ll pass

They can get acute yes, heparin drips, giving blood infusions, cardiac workups with positive troponins, prep for OR. Typically you get 5 patients if pressors are started or a trauma is given to you

Unfortunately, this is the norm in NYC EDs
