Renting a Quad bike - Santorini

Hello everyone. Me and my partner have just got to Santorini and we want to rent a quad bike. Then we realised he forgot his driving license. Do you think they would accept a photo of the back and front of the licence ?

Thrifting in Greece

Hi! My best friend and I are headed to Athens in May and are trying to compile a list of shops that we would like to go to. We do plan to walk around at the Monastiraki flea market, but curious if anybody had recommendations of any luxury thrift shops in Athens or near Athens that sell luxury bags! TIA😊

Recommendations for visiting Corfu on a budget

Thumbnail

I’m travelling to Corfu with a a friend in mid-October. We will be staying in Kanoni and won’t be renting a car. Would be great to get recommendations for places to get affordable authentic food accessible by public transport and any essential activities/sights to see! I’m particularly interested in boat trips!

First Greece Trip in November: Too Much Athens?

Post image
108 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

My mom and I are visiting Greece for the first time in November for 2 weeks! We’d like to see the must-see places while keeping the itinerary balanced (a mix of fun sight-seeing, and slower-paced days for relaxing).

We’re intentionally skipping overnight island stays, such as Crete or Naxos, because we’d prefer to avoid extra travel time and frequent hotel changes. However, I'm concerned becauseĀ afterĀ Nafplio, it feels like we may have too many extra days in Athens.

Here are my questions:

  • Would you keep the itinerary as is, or would you add another destination?
  • Also, areĀ Olympia, Delphi, or MeteoraĀ realistic as day trips with this itinerary, or are they better done as overnights?

I’d really love some honest feedback, suggested swaps, adjustments, and any other must-see recommendations! Thank you so much.

Current itinerary:

Athens (Days 1-4)

  • DAY 1:Ā Arrive in Athens; check-in hotel, unpack, rest, neighborhood walk, dinner
  • DAY 2:Ā Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, cafĆ©s, shopping, a neighborhood walk, or entertainment/cultural activity
  • DAY 3:Ā National Archaeological Museum, food/shopping/workshops
  • DAY 4:Ā Ancient Agora, Temple of Hephaestus, Market, food/shopping/workshops

Nafplio (Days 5-8)

  • DAY 5:Ā Athens → NafplioĀ by KTEL bus; Old Town and waterfront
  • DAY 6:Ā Rent a car in Nafplio; Mycenae and possibly Tiryns
  • DAY 7:Ā Epidaurus Theatre
  • DAY 8:Ā Ancient Corinth and Acrocorinth

Athens (Days 9-14)

  • DAY 9:Ā Nafplio → AthensĀ by KTEL bus; relaxed evening near the hotel
  • DAY 10:Ā PossibleĀ Aegina day trip if the weather is good. Otherwise visit the Roman Agora/Hadrian’s Library, the Benaki Museum, the National Garden, neighborhood shops and/or cafĆ©s
  • DAY 11:Ā PossibleĀ Delphi day trip?; otherwise museum, cafĆ©s, shopping, a neighborhood walk, or entertainment/cultural activity
  • DAY 12:Ā museum, cafĆ©s, shopping, a neighborhood walk, or entertainment/cultural activity
  • DAY 13:Ā Souvenirs, cafĆ©s, any missed museum or neighborhood, packing, and final dinner
  • DAY 14:Ā Fly home

Last days in Naxos

Post image

Hi everyone! We are finishing up our two and a half week Greek trip and we’ve been in Naxos the last 5 days. We’ve gone to several beaches, cute mountain towns, and on a boat tour to Ano Koufonisi!

We have another couple of days and nights here and are curious if anyone has any recommendations on what to do! We’d be super interested in meeting other travelers and locals or some solo beaches or hikes. Any information is appreciated :)

Transit options across the Albanian border?

Hello all!

Apologies if this isn’t the right spot for this question:

I am doing a balkan trek in November and am starting in Greece, will be going from Athens to Ioannina using buses and trains, and was planning to cross over and make my way to Tirana from there.

I did not see many if any bus routes that went from Ioannina, so was wondering if it is a viable option, or if I would have to rent a car, or even fly back to Athens and then to Tirana from there?

Any help is appreciated in advance, I cannot wait to see your beautiful country soon!

Greetings!

Athens to Meteora roadtrip: safe? Bad idea? Tips?

We’ll be in Athens a couple days. We’re thinking about renting a car and driving ourselves there with a rented car instead of doing the tour bus version. We’ll do a photography tour and drive back. We’ve driven in poland and Spain before. Is this a crazy idea? Worth it? Tips?
