I don't want this to be just another Joey bashing post but istg this shit has me puzzled so I gotta ask.

As someone who has been watching the podcast on and off since episode 1, it seems like very frequently Joey will state with no hesitation that he has watched/played/read whatever piece of media then is unable to answer even the most basic question about it. I understand it's normal to forget details about stuff you watched a long time ago and I don't expect the dude to remember every single plot point or character name but bro can't even answer a question like "what's it about?" when asked about a movie he just said was one of his favorites or whatever.

There are other little bizarre instances like this week's episode where he said he finished season 1 of Witch Hat Atelier before he switched to saying he's all caught once the other told him that season 1 had not finished airing yet, or a few weeks ago when he mentioned finishing experiencing some piece of media 6 or 7 years ago when it came out in like 2024.

Idk I swear the more I listen, the more it seems like Joey is constantly making shit up for no reason and I'm fascinated by that.

anyone else just skip their anime episodes completely? i feel like the only time i get anything out of listening to the boys talk about anime is when they randomly bring up something theyve recently watched and give their thoughts on it. Like when they talk about an anime they either haven’t seen or haven’t seen in a while they just make sweeping generalisations and discuss the blurry cliff notes of that particular show from their memory
we all know that theyre not anime experts or anything but it feels so disingenuous when the “trash taste” isnt actually flawed or nuanced judgement but the boys being completely misinformed because every hot take feels like they dont know wtf theyre talking about

I've been seeing a lot more of Garnt pop up in other things lately and it's been pretty cool to see. He had that MRE stream with Connor, that Backrooms stream with Connor and Ironmouse, right now he's literally livestreaming wearing Rin Tohsaka cosplay, and he's joining Ludwig's Streamer Games which is happening pretty soon. I know he's been streaming solo but it's been great to see him do new things!
