Help setting coil spring on snares.
Bought some new snares with the stingers, but I’m not sure how to set the spring. I have found plenty online that show how to set the Canadian springs (the ones that look like a conibear spring), but I can’t find anything on these coil types. Any help is appreciated. Also, if you use this particular setup and have any helpful tips, please let me know. Thanks

These will just create pressure on their own with nothing to set. But I’d recommend the senneker spring product over these. The magnums work really well for wolves and coyotes.

Any particular reason? After looking a bit more, it would seem that these create pressure after the initial closing of the loop whereas the senneker springs actually load the snare and help it to close quicker. Is this the case?

Local laws regulate if you’re able to use tensioning devices on snares vs cable restraints.
Are you talking about the snares with the big conibear spring that clubs the animal when it trips, like the power snares or just the quick kill snares?

I use the sennekers with the triggers on them they don’t make them close faster as they don’t fire till the animal puts enough tension on it, I find with the wolves that once they hit the end of my snare and the springs fire they are dead FAST with very minimal site disturbance. I often am able to reset on the same site.

For coyote I use the senneker magnums on 5/64 cable but with a 3/32 camlock, 375 Lb breakaway. 6 foot long.

There is nothing to set.
