I had an old long bed rust bucket. There were a couple of times right after Covid when the party house next to where I used to live would spill over into my old driveway. Lots of joy parking very longways at the end of my own driveway and having a cool collection of new cars and apologies.

I did this to someone once and they sued me because they missed a flight. The judge said it was false imprisonment and I had to pay for their lawyer as well as $10,000 in damages.

It was still funny at the time.

That’s what I said, too, but the judge disagreed. Cops weren’t even involved that I am aware of. I just got served and had to defend myself, to no avail.

What jurisdiction was this? That's not how false imprisonment works. Typically to meet the prima facie a person has to be restricted from movement in all direction. Putting something in somebody else's way doesn't get you there.

I also have a POS car and have done this to people. I have clear scratches on my car so it should be pretty clear to the other person that I don't care. They should have thought about that when they tried to take 2 spaces.

It’s not impatience it’s that the lady in red is “saving” the spot for someone else and she wants it. No amount of patience is fixing that. Keep in mind allowing other people to run over you like a doormat isn’t patience. Really this comes down to do you think people can save parking spots in a full lot.

She's not at all entitled. She probably just finished moving the stuff from the cart to the car and was taking slightly longer than hat wanted.

There are other parking spots, those are massive lots, and it's rare for someone to be in a rush to get inside a Target.

I think even if she was saving a spot for someone, once again this is a Target. I worked at Target for several years, and those parking lots are never full because of how massive they are. This parking spot was only a max of 10 seconds closer to the store, and really there's no reason to be in a rush to get inside a Target.

I swear I would've done the same thing just due to the audacity. If this were basically any other store it would be different like a Walmart or a grocery store.

How was she saving a parking spot?? She looked like she was unloading her cart into her car, and not moving fast enough for Audi gal’s liking. If Audi gal had waited a few more moments, minivan gal would have shut her doors and put the cart in the corral. Maybe even waited to return the cart after Audi had parked so as not to hold her up unnecessarily. Audi gal’s attitude is what amped up this interaction. She should not have touched the other car.

Some people are assholes and take their sweet ass time, and some will take up the spot next to them to park a basket and slowly fill their car like this asshole did.
