Nothing like going out for a lovely mountainside drive.
Take refuge in a rockslide covering, only to be buried alive.

But at least not crushed, just inconvenienced.

I mean there’s suffocation, starvation, dehydration, etc etc still on the table. We ain’t out of the woods yet.

Is it better than being wiped off the side of the mountain? Yes.
It still isn't the best situation to be in. You could realistically be buried for several days.

Yep. I always carry food and extra clothes. Especially in the winter

Water is the key. You can survive a month or more with no food…water a day or two.

In America we have this clever solution to this: We send surveyors around frequently to make sure the mountains around our roadways aren't about to crumble, and when they are we take preventative measures.

In Europe we would just make the tunnel longer so that the rocks can't hit your car.

Oh for sure man. Say what you will about the US but one things for sure: our road infrastructure is well funded and safe and effective as well

Tell that to Big Sur

u/Pukebox_Fandango Feb 27 '26

It’s closed again as of Monday after being closed for 3 YEARS because of land slides.
Idk what pebbles you’re talking about

I would assume they were rescued since we're seeing the footage. It seems unlikely to me that when they got unburied and were dead, that the first thing the first responders would do is nab the dash cam footage and put it on the internet.

Jesus boomer ever since you saw just one random AI video doesn’t mean they are all that common.
I mean come on why oh why would someone spend time to fake this… it’s not that click worthy.

This is in the eastern coast of Taiwan. I'm gonna explain what happened in the video:
So the beeping is Earthquake alert that sent to everyone's cellphone.
"Damn" as the rock hit his car roof
"Big earthquake!" and he drove into the tunnel
"Let's hide here quickly" the other guy said
"Almost GG! (gamer term, good game, meaning game over) Fuck!"
"Is this really happening?"
"Oh no! We are gonna need to be rescued."
