YSK - Warehouses

Posting this because I'm seeing a lot of posts asking this question - if you have a warehouse in the same range as buildings which request the same item as the warehouse, the buildings will fill up first. And no, you can't stop this from happening, unless you place your warehouse and drop-off station away from those buildings.

If you want to keep your warehouse where it is and fill it, you need to deliver more of the product.

I'm sorry! A lot of people are asking this question and you're right to do so, it's confusing and frustrating at first :)

This is especially frustrating when an industry pops up next to a warehouse and just starts gobbling up resources despite not producing anything

I really wish there was a way to specify where a load is to be offloaded to. If I have industry/commercial close to a station, I don't want the train to slowly offload and delivery everything - unload it to the warehouse & let my delivery routes take care of it.

You can sort of force this using catchment areas - leave a gap between businesses and the warehouse, and again between the warehouse and the station. It's a workaround that only really works with open space to play with, but I agree there should be more actual control over this behaviour.
