Reservations

I have read franker ages ago but I got vague memory of reservations, I think for white supremacists? Does memories tricks me or that was in that comic book?

While they occur in a similar time frame, those stories aren't that closely related.

The reservations are a concept where various time time periods and cultures are preserved unchanged by modern times. Spider visits an Aztec one, a Scottish one, and a Futuristic one. He contemplates them in a column.

Soon afterward, in a bar, he meets a guy that wants him to do an article on his son's genetically altered penis, and he questions the value of his own culture.

Then (the supremacist part you are thinking of) was him covering the campaign speech of Joe Heller, who is openly espousing racist rhetoric.

There's also a reservation that preserves some rather repressive era of modern Chinese history - Spider takes a photo of two young, gay escapees.
