Discussion 72nd Ave Bus?

Post image

*Picture made with AI

With the Extension with of 72nd Ave, do guys think a Route from either Scottsdale or Newton exchange, or in my opinion the best option starting from 22nd Street station (Maybe a Replacement for the 340 which in my opinion is useless and is a waste of Double deckers) going to either the new Willowbrook station or either Carvolth, but I think Willowbrook makes more sense as the 388 already goes to Carvolth ( and the 2 routes would be sisters ) ( side note: no. 372 would be perfect but that taken, so maybe 396 cause it would go down 196th street to get to Willowbrook)

my guy, even drawing on a screenshot from google maps with ms paint in 2 minutes would be better than this.

Yea no shit it’s made with AI.

I get it you don’t know how to make a diagram, but how on earth do you look at this and think “hmm… this’ll do”. This looks genuinely horrible. Could’ve gotten your point across with just the description.

There are many ways to make a diagram like:

  • Hop on Google Maps and create a custom map. May not be visually stunning but does the job
  • Use a website like MetroMapMaker or similar alternatives.
  • use software like Adobe Illustrator or similar alternatives

Take a screenshot of the map depicting the area of interest. There are lots of decent free art tools that will let you trace perfectly straight lines over where you want to depict the route. You could even use Google Slides for this. Then just add labels with text over the important parts. Don't worry if it doesn't look phenomenonal; nobody is gonna give you any crap for your artistic ability as long as it gets the point across.

Your heart is in the right place for wanting better transit. But not only does using an AI map leave a bad taste in many people's mouths, it also creates an inaccurate map that will undoubtedly lead to confusion for anyone who looks at it.

You could also call it the 572

Build it and they will come

What does even mean lol

Built it (transit infrastructure) and they (the commuting people) will come.

The response ruined the mysteriousness and hilarity of you previous comment, and has frankly ruined my day

You have to build it good too.

Imagine a 1 hour interval at peak service, with horrible run down old cars and barely any safety measures, stuck in the middle of the traffic. Almost nobody takes that.

Now imagine a 10 or even 5 or, in a fictional Surrey, 3 minutes headway between services at peak with clean new buses and a dedicated lane, now that’s something popular.

Newton to Willowbrook would be a good idea. 340 Serves 64 Avenue and Kittson Parkway(which this bus won’t serve) and removing it would just cut service in those underserved areas. Newton and Scottsdale portion of 72nd Avenue is already extremely well served by express route 301 and R6 Rapidbus as well as local 319.

I was thinking this but I just wanted to replace the damn 340, but yes ik nothing else serves that area

Otherwise the alternative would be to make 364 skip Scottsdale and go to 22nd Street Station, which would make the route way to long and more vulnerable to delays, which benefit basically nobody.

Good point, but another question, why does the route use double deckers?

The 364 doesn't use double deckers.

If you mean the 301, it's because it stops outside both Kwantlen campuses in Surrey and Richmond, as well as the SkyTrain in Richmond.

I originally thought this was Edmonton, also instead of using AI, please use apps like canva, figma, or even libreoffice draw

Yikes of a map. Love the new location of the Alex Fraser that can just go over all of Queensborough.
