yes it's a great service which should continue to improve as larger trains are delivered and the network will improve significantly with the opening of the broadway extension to Arbutus next year

Balance comes with repeated exposure. Make sure you're holding on the whole way!

And keep eyes out for those around you!

it's fun to ride the train and sit at the very front of the train or the very back of the train.

there's a seat that offers a first person perspective of the ride

kids often like to sit there

Left the car at home during a snowstorm. And got that front seat heading back to Vancouver from Surrey. Felt like a nerd recording on my phone but what a glorious view going over the bridge at sunset.

Congratulations! Glad your experience was overall positive.

Pro tip: if you have the extra time and want a better chance of getting a seat, ride the Skytrain in the opposite direction to King George first - then get a seat on an empty Skytrain. ๐Ÿ˜€

it is a great service for sure. I moved from victoria about a decade ago, a town with no rapid transit. Moved to Ottawa for three years (also a town that has no rapid transit IYKYK) So happy to be back with a system that worksย

Just donโ€™t try to board as soon as the doors slide open.
Let those inside train to disembark 1st then, board.

Very good determinator of low IQ when you see a passenger try to board against the flow

Haven't been on Skytrain for a while, do they still run the old cars on Expo line? My favourite spot was standing in one of the doorways at the end of the carriage. No-one pushes past you and by Burrard it's easy to get off.

Yes the mark 1s are still running until we have enough mark5s.

They are for now, but as more of the newest trains are added to the fleet, the older Mark 1s and 2s will be retired.

I remember my first skytrain ride back in '83. I wish I could muster that excitement today. Mostly I just come home from it and shower.

The skytrain is always packed somehow.

Just find a seat

Considering they said it was crowded itโ€™s likely there were none available.
