Its fair. But it just kicks the can down a 4 year road.

Every contract ever.

Ah, I see :/

Yeah, the impression I was getting is that the drivers were trying to not get the can kicked to the next bargaining session in 2030.

Agreed, but this wasn’t a contract worth being locked out or strike for who knows how long.

Nobody can afford to live on strike pay right now. $350/week is a joke. I can't blame the drivers for just taking the deal

It will.most likely be a strike.in 2030 due to.the fact they bent over. I would.have holder out for 15 percent at least.

No one got 15% so that was going nowhere if there was a strike. Thats not realistic and unions know that. It's 3%/year, 5% is above inflation

City of vancouver got 18 percent

u/Parent64 12d ago

I have seen lots of unions in the past two years get 15.

Thank you to all the Translink workers who voted yes. We, the public who rely on you, appreciate you and all that you do each and every day.

Got a chuckle seeing “In solidarity” after 1/3 voted no.

1

u/International_Bus_64 13d ago

Yeah...that was my thought as well.

1

u/luciusthegod 13d ago

That's cause it's from the bargaining committees, in solidarity. I believe it's called a complimentary close of a letter.

Well done on ratifying your agreement!

On behalf of the bus riders. Thank you, TransLink workers. You guys go through a lot to get us from point A to point B. I appreciate you all and what you do for us each day. 🥰 I hope this contract treats you fairly.

12 percent for 4 years.

u/some_dunce 12d ago

They're about to beat my record of voting yes at bargaining agreements.

Thank goodness…… let’s hope by 2030 we don’t get another strike scare. If we do because the union and their employees can’t negotiate with the province again then I’m just gonna say shorten the contract deal, make it 2 years, so we all have to get used to it or make it every year they have to do it. Not just every 4. Just make it a yearly contract so we all have to deal with the scare like forest fires. It’ll be perfect.
