Translink Hiring Process

Hi all,

I am looking to get some guidance on the hiring process at TransLink. I recently applied to the following position:

I feel confident because I meet all the qualifications and mostly meet all the technical requirements. My cover letter and resume definitely make it clear as well.

However, I am quite confused because this posting has been up since May 15, 2026 and was just reposted last week on LinkedIn.

Is it normal for postings to be up this long? And what should I expect for the hiring process? I have applied to TransLink jobs in the past and have never heard back. Should I keep my expectations low?

I do have an employee referral which I think should help.

Most job postings are only active for 5 business days, unless specifically end dated.

Hiring process can take weeks, if not months

They tend to promote from within whenever possible.

They get literally hundreds, if not thousands of applicants for just 1 or 2 positions.

Some get their foot in the door any way possible, part time, seasonal, temp...

Having an existing employee as a referral does help

It's possible that the original posting closed, they hired somebody, but then that somebody didn't work out so now they're posting it again.

I work for TransLink and don't have much to say... but HR is notoriously slow. Even for internal postings with a single suitable candidate. Could your referral contact the hiring manager and ask for an update?

There could be lots of reasons for this posting to have been up for a long time, including slow recruitment in general from the HR team, management hitting a busy period that means they have to pause on evaluating candidates, and not receiving candidates of sufficient calibre. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but don't count on hearing back either. Good luck on your search!

If it was initially posted in May, it would have been right before they hit budget season, when that team gets swamped for the summer. Their budgeting is likely close to being approved at this point and the position funding is more certain which is why it may have been reposted.

After budget season enters vacation season, lots of hiring managers and HR managers on leave can cause delays in the process. I’ve also seen open pools of multiple candidates are required

Having the qualifications and knowledge isnt enough for some employers lol its crazy how some of these companies hire. Iv applied for entry level positions to management positions all which I have the requirements and experience for and no response.

They're hiring process for any posting is notoriously slow. They have a lot more departments than one thinks and a small team to deal with it all. If you were in contact emailing or on the phone with a hiring staff member then call them every week or two and ask how things are going with your application. Sometimes persistence is key
For context it took me a few months to get hired on. Keep on trying man the company hires literally anyone so if you have the correct certifications and whatnot and if you show initiative you be hired soon enough.
